Position Purpose
Provide process support for all plant operations. Improve site productive and Keep process and production stable, safe, economic. Lead site improvement project,
Job Responsibilities
? Generate and evaluate ideas
- Identify productivity improvement ideas by analyzing production data, making mass&heat balances of the process, modeling and simulating the process, performing pinch analysis, …
- Identify and evaluate possibilities to comply with new regulations or to improve safety, environmental, quality or sustainability performance.
- Follow new technology developments and perform feasibility study for implementation in existing plants
- Co-operate with research in development of (new) processes in order to guarantee the feasibility and the effectiveness of the R&D program in order to enable a fast transfer from R&D to industrial application.
- Support business and new business development by developing technical proposals (including order of magnitude capex estimate) in order to enable the new business growth opportunities.

- Develop the conceptual design deliverables: PFD, MHB, process simulation, main equipment design conditions (P, T, dimensions), main equipment plot plan, …
- Develop the basic engineering deliverables: P&Id’s, pipe specs, equipment spec sheets, control philosophy, IO count, power count, hazop study, LOPA study, permit requests, …
- Develop the detailed engineering deliverables: pipe list, IO list, instrumentation spec sheets, PSV spec sheets, interlock list, DCS info, …
? Implement projects using the GDPM methodology
- project manager responsibilities:
objectives: define project objectives, align with all stakeholders, critically evaluate scope changes
timing: establish milestone plan, monitor progress, anticipate and avoid issues, expedite where needed
budget: establish capex estimate, monitor real spending, anticipate and avoid issues, minimize cost where possible
project team: identify required resources, compose team, clearly define responsibilities of each team member
reporting: report progress, issues and action plans to project team members, stakeholders, steering committee, …
coordination: initiate and coordinate all project activities
- procurement of main equipment, small equipment and contractors: issue RFQ’s, technical evaluation of the bids, commercial negotiation, issue PO, monitor delivery, equipment check and acceptance
- construction: hazard evaluation and action plan, monitor progress and quality, anticipate and avoid issues, coordination between different contractors
- perform pre-startup checks, organize ORI and support operations during commissioning
- Administration: finalize open action items, archive project related documentation: as built drawings, technical information floc, BEP and DEP, information package for (preventive) maintenance
- Project evaluation: compare project results with project objectives, issue lessons learned
? Support operations by doing contact engineering
- Assist production in troubleshooting: identify root cause for issues in safety, quality, environment, productivity, yield, … and propose new standard operating conditions in order to solve the issue
- Perform re-hazop /OPHR studies and implement action items, respond to engineering questions from government audits
- Support operations in continuous process improvements: evaluate current process performance, propose and evaluate production tests in order to improve process performance
- Support operations in implementation of small modifications: evaluate and improve MOC requests, perform safety evaluation of MOC
- Support operations in reliability issues by identifying root cause for the issue
Knowledge and Skill Requirements (To include education and experience)
? Chemical engineering and related, bachelor and above.
? At least 3 years in chemical manufacturing process management.
? Strong knowledge on process safety
? Project experience
? 6-Sigma/Lean experience preferred
? Effluent English on oral and written
Travel Requirements
? Travel to domestic and international
