Reporting to the Private Label Controller, the Product Development Manager is responsible to develop and launch new private label health & beauty product ranges for the various Dairy Farm retail formats in China (namely Mannings China, 7Eleven China) aligned with Group strategy and direction so as to maximize sales, margins and profitability, achieving the business targets of the Group.
Responsibilities:
1.Conceptualize product ideas, develop and launch new private label health & beauty product ranges, promotion packs (including ongoing improvements of existing products) in collaboration with Business units and ensure timely product launches as per schedule.
2.Ensure efficient and profitable management of the product development process including supplier liaison, price negotiation, innovating packaging, cost management, marketing and establishing operational and merchandising guidelines.
3.Perform competitive market analysis with the objective of identifying new product opportunities.
4.Keeping up to date with forthcoming trends, making sure our product is developed in the correct direction and is relevant in the market place.
5.Coordinate with Design and QA, ensuring that design and QA-regulatory guidelines are complied and no recall incidences.
6.Develop and manage relationship with suppliers.
7.Responsible for sales (sell-through) & margin for Private Label health & beauty lines developed.
8.Plan and perform marketing /promotional strategies of Private Label lines with respective Business Units.
9.Ensure Group Health & Beauty Private Label Department profitability with cost-savings
10.Oversee work of subordinates to ensure the consistency and quality completion of tasks assigned through effective guidance, supervision and identification of training needs.
Requirement:
1.At least 5 years of relevant experiences in managerial level with minimum 3 years experience in FMCG sales and merchandising field
2.Preferred those with work experience with health & beauty products (personal care / cosmetics and nutritional supplements)
3.A sound understanding in product development and category management metrics / techniques is essential
4.Strong negotiation skills with a good analytical mind and business planning abilities
5.Good interpersonal, communication and time-management skills
6.Good in both spoken and written English communication skills
