DS Smith

DS Smith, a £4.1bn FTSE company, is a leading and industry recognised packaging
strategist (www.dssmith.com) within the European Electronics and Automotive industry. Our existing European Customers within these industries are used to having DS Smith design and supply industry bespoke high added value multi-material packaging solutions & services.

Facilitated by access to digital information and open trade routes, our customers can procure materials at the lowest price in one location and ship them to a location with low labour rates, as engineers in yet another location make product design decisions and procurement is on the other side of the globe.

Products are no longer designed, produced and sold in a single country/region: It is not unusual to see Design is in the EU, Procurement in China and Production of the same product, hence requiring the same packaging, in Mexico, China & Europe. Meaning that our customers expect DS Smith to adapt and change our game plan to have to optimum set-up to also now support them on global projects as follows:

- Design a multi-material global packaging solution & ensure global packaging
performance governance: Packaging specifications, performances, colour
management, FSC etc.
- Find, select, audit and qualify external packaging manufacturing partners in needed geographies, where DS Smith has no manufacturing capabilities, ensuring
compliance to customer’s standards
- Have one Global central point of contact to negotiate all commercial conditions, with customer’s global counterpart, for the different geographies impacted by project
- Manage all day to day admin supply operations (call-offs, ordering, shipments,
invoicing…) between local customer plant and DS Smith’s supplier.

As a result of this complex demand DS Smith has created a new operation in China, which acts as the “Regional Control Tower” and umbrella the above mentioned operations in China.
To support our business in the Nanjing area we are currently looking for a:
Warehouse Manager / SQE
What are we looking for?
Experiences:
- 3-5 years warehouse & quality related working experience at least
- Mechanism, or engineering background, knowing packaging industry is a plus
- Self-motivated and willing to work under pressure
- Good communication skill and team spirit
- Good general English with oral and writing
Duties:
- Responsible for the day-to-day 24/7 service operation at our Nanjing hub and within this:
o Creates daily, weekly and monthly plans as well as reports
o Coordinates with customer and our operations team that all processes are executed according to company standards
o Monitors daily work and Health & Safety
o Creates an environment that complies with all laws and regulations
o Makes sure that all target projects are done properly within the given timeframe
o Helps assist quality management introduction, certification and improvements
- Further daily tasks include:
o Complies that processes are aligned from the ordering, to its transit, to the delivery
o Manages and audits daily work by reports and creating of continues improvement projects
o
o Visits customers to monitor the quality of service
o Keeps ERP systems up to date and plans future capacity requirements
o Oversees planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment
o Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
o Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
o Introduces an inbound and outbound quality control system and within this on site quality control if some potential risks are defended, prepare quality improvement plan with supplier
o Helps suppliers identifying root cause of the quality deviation if needed, provides suggestions to suppliers for improvement and reducing defects, follows up the effectiveness of corrective actions
o Participates with supplier audit and follows up corrective actions
o Judges inspection report of mass production parts
o Creates 8D reports and verifies supplier actions in time
o Works together with Procurement department to achieve localization target and is responsible for first article release process.

-    为项目安排一位全球联络人，负责与客户方联络人商谈在项目涉及地区的所有相关商业条款；
-    管理所有与客户当地工厂和得斯玛供应商之间的日常行政、供应、运营工作（订单、订货、运输、发票等）。



为满足如此复杂的要求，得斯玛在中国新设运营点，作为“地区物流控制塔”统筹公司在华的上述营运活动。
