Summary:
The Indirect Procurement Specialist will be focused on supporting XYLEM APAC Indirect Category Sourcing including but not limited to Logistics, Travel related service activities, etc. purchased across Asia. Key activities include: identifying and implementing non-production related cost reduction opportunities for XYLEM APAC, supporting global indirect sourcing team in collaborating and implementing projects, acting as regional leader to provide the focal point of contact with all XYLEM APAC facilities and vendors regarding Transportation/Logistics and Travel Management, develop and execute the indirect sourcing goals and objectives. This position reports to Indirect Procurement Manager-APAC and functionally to Global Category Manager (Indirect).

- Manage the majority of the day-to-day purchasing operations in Xylem China office. Typical duties include facilitating supplier setups, processing POs and partnering with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure effective procurement processes are followed.
- Provide Transportation/Supply Chain Logistics and Travel Management support to XYLEM APAC and vendors, liaise with 3PL to provide Transportation/Supply Chain Logistics expertise to clients by maintaining a current knowledge and understanding of industry issues, regulations and changes, as well as the area of Customs Compliance and other regulatory areas, perform analysis of client transportation and supply chain data to identify and implement client cost reductions.
Issue and analyze Request For Quotes (RFQ’s), develop contract templates, closely work with regional stakeholders, AP and suppliers on indirect purchasing related issues.
- Leverage Xylem spend in assigned categories across sites and value centers to deliver the highest value supply relationships.
Work with the Global Category Leaders to develop long term category strategy to drive improvements and deliver value for the organization.
- Develop regional sourcing goals, procurement strategies and risk mitigation plans, and facilitate supplier selection while optimizing supplier mix and allocation. Document, communicate and implement strategy.
- Conduct supplier business reviews, drive supplier improvement, development and savings initiatives. Review and update Approved Supplier List (ASL) and ensure compliance with Xylem procedures.
- Regularly interact with organizational associates, other client organizations and suppliers to communicate/validate strategic direction and build relationships.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- GDP metrics for XYLEM APAC indirect sourcing
- Map the Indirect Spend and category across all businesses in XYLEM APAC
- Meet the savings target for indirect projects
- Monitor and control the indirect spend through negotiated suppliers and contracts
- To learn and maintain the 3PL transportation/logistics best practices, and enhance the internal transportation/logistics capability.

Qualifications:
- College Degree or above
- At least 4-5 years logistics/travel procurement experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Logical / Process oriented thinker.
- Good verbal (primarily presentations and telephone) and written communications skills.
- Good Computer Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
