Responsibilities:
Marketing
? Understand the total market and marketing.
? The market for IRRICAD is assessed and written estimates of the total market are segmented, produced and updated annually.
? The value proposition of using IRRICAD by Chinese irrigation designers is identified and communicated in marketing material and in the sales process.
? An annual Marketing plan is produced and implemented.
? Marketing material is produced in Chinese in both hard copy and electronically, and is distributed and maintained as relevant.
? A Chinese web presence is established to promote IRRICAD and to provide on line support.
? Networking events and conferences are attended and cold calls to new potential clients are made as required.
? On occasion represent either Lincoln Agritech or Netafim in industry events in China.
Training
? Demonstrate the capabilities of IRRICAD to prospective clients and provide training, both on-line and in person, to new and existing users as required. Assist with the preparation of demonstration and training material.
Support
? Provide first line software support to new and existing users in China.
Sales
? Sales of IRRICAD are made to achieve agreed budgets.
? Financial transactions are managed to fit in with Netafim systems and Chinese regulations.
Client management
? Utilise a client relationship management process and system to track key activities with clients.
? Key accounts are identified and given additional service as appropriate.
Government
? Relationships are established with key government officials.
? A good understanding of any government regulations relating to the sales of IRRICAD and the development of the irrigation sector in China are fully understood.
? Key government departments are kept abreast of our progress and sources of government funding to support our sales effort are identified and obtained.
Intellectual property and copyright protection
? Maintain vigilance for unlicensed copies of IRRICAD.
? Ensure the security of the hardware protection devices (dongles) and make every effort to maintain the copy protection system of the product.
Travel
? Extensive, cost effective travel is undertaken throughout China.
? Periodic trips are to be made to NZ to become more proficient at IRRICAD training, sales and support.
Health & Safety
? Comply with the Health and Safety Policies required by Chinese law and Netafim.
? Take no action or inaction that may cause harm in the workplace.
? Take no unreasonable risks.
? Report all workplace accidents, incidents, near misses and any potential workplace hazards to the relevant Health and Safety Officer or your Manager.
? Follow safe methods and use safety equipment.
? Seek assistance or advice where the safe method of completing a job is not known.
Rules and regulations
? Comply with all Chinese and Netafim rules and policies relating to employment.
Reporting
? Provide reports to the Manager, Executive team or Board as requested
Other Duties
? Perform other reasonable duties as agreed from time to time as requested by line managers.
Experience:
? Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a business development or sales role in irrigation, agriculture, software or another relevant industry
? Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and English (speaking, reading and writing)
? Advanced skills in MS Office
? International business development experience or personal international travel experience and an understanding of cultural differences
? Experience with writing and implementing marketing or business development plans.
? To be comfortable dealing with technology based products and services so that you can build empathy with the IRRICAD community
? Willingness to undertake extensive travel
? An aptitude for training and support of software products
? Financial literacy
? Irrigation design experience
Qualifications and Training
? Degree in Agriculture, Engineering Science or other applicable field
? Sales and relationship management training
? Marketing, exporting or International Business development papers or qualification
