Job Purpose
The role of the “Solution Consultant for UCP Solutions” is to ensure the successful execution of the company’s strategy through technical specialist support and enablement of solutions for the company’s products and services. This requires to work closely with Global Accounts, Channel Partners, Marketing & Sales organizations to act as the lead for Converged Computing Technologies, focused on driving revenues for both product and Solution engagements in the defined territory. This also includes maintaining an awareness of developments within this area of the industry around Compute/Network/Storage hardware as it relates to UCP solution. Where required, provide guidance and lead PoC Implementations.
Certifications
VCP as basic requirement, VCAP will be prioritized for the job, VMWare certify will prefer.
Responsibilities
? The role is responsible for delivering the following:
? UCP solution Strategy & Architecture
? Define and document the China UCP solutions strategy for Pre-Sales.
? Regular briefings for the top tier customers in China for HDS Solutions, Products & Services in collaboration with the business leads and the technology platform PM’s for Compute, Storage and Converged Solutions.
? Creation of infrastructure strategy and architecture content for use in standalone discussions, presentations or customer RFP’s that leverages existing content from corporate as well as new ones that ensure it is applicable to the China market.
? Support at industry events and tradeshows as required including presentations and workshops.
? Involved in briefings / web-techs for sales and pre-sales staff, to cover industry and market trends and directions.
? Work with Corporate, regional and country teams to ensure the strategy is comprehensive and appropriate for China and provide feedback as necessary to corporate.
? Provide reporting and participate in weekly conference calls with the Corporate & regional UCP teams
Solutions Development (Pre-Sales)
? Identify field opportunities and wins that can be replicated across China in order to gain further success and use as examples for other sales teams.
? Both directly or as part of the Hitachi customer-facing team, work with account sales/presales team to develop and deliver technical solution consulting / proposal / Competitive analysis to customer
? Develop and deliver technical consulting/sizing for VMware infrastructure and VDI solution
? Lead, plan and manage solution oriented POC, demonstrate strength of assigned solution and influence customer for right expectation
? Provide full and strong competitive analysis support for sales/presales, well documentation, lead/reengineer customer expectation for challenged situation
? Partner with the business leads and channel partners to develop optimized and Fit for Purpose solutions based on current and emerging needs. These solutions will be developed in conjunction with the business aligned support staff and the platform PM teams.
Emerging Technology and Technology Governance
? Evaluate the impact of new and emerging technologies on our Converged Solutions Strategy.
? Identify Sales and Pre-Sales skills gaps for new product and solutions on the roadmap, develop strategies and activities to address gaps.
? Participate as needed in Product Management technology reviews. Provide input to regional and corporate Product Management to ensure the development of future products is in line with customer requirements for the assigned territory.
? Sales Enablement
? Work with the account teams and customers to build business cases that assist the customer to justify an investment in Hitachi solutions.
? Where appropriate, assist the account team in the development and production of responses to RFIs and RFPs.
? Help the Account Teams identify who the key decision maker would be for different Products and Solutions being proposed. Support the Account Teams in discussions with the customers key technical and business stakeholders.
? Conduct training and run workshops for Sales and Pre-Sales as required.
? Comply with all published Hitachi policies and guidelines.
Competencies:
This role requires a comprehensive set of technical and product management skills as the role acts as trusted advisor and subject matter expert.
? Must be proactive, creativeness and openness, Willingness to accept responsibility and ownership
? Strong leadership, influencing, communication and interpersonal skills.
? Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with Business and Technical PM’s, leaders and peers within the organization.
? Strong applied technical knowledge of Converged Solution technologies with relevant experience(Sever, Network and Storage).
? Excellent planning skills, both technical and business.
? Ability to innovate by taking emerging solutions and products roadmaps and identifying additional business opportunities in order to gain market share and drive incremental revenue.
? Highly proficient in written and spoken business/Technical English.
? Well organized, adaptable and a clear thinker.
? Innovative, actively looking for solutions to problems, a catalyst for change.
? An accomplished communicator and influencer, able to work with customers, users, senior level management, sales and peers.
? A good understanding of consultative or solutions selling techniques.
? Able to demonstrate technical credibility with customers and partners.
? Confident and self-reliant, but be able to work as a team member, demonstrating clear commitment to team objectives.
Profile
? Degree or equivalent formal education and/or working experience.
? A minimum of 10 years’ IT experience, with a Customer or Technology Vendor.
? 5 years+ presales experience in a Vendor
? A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a SME or similar role(Server Virtualization, VDI). VMware, VDI, Hyper-V, Oracle, SAP expertise is preferred.
? A good knowledge of related industry products and service offerings.
? A clear understanding of solution sales and delivery requirements.
? Possess the ability to resolve issues and conflicts, as well as be able to take ownership when faced with challenging situations.
