As an Engineer Manager, you will coach, guide and facilitate the development of a work group to develop collaborative relationships amoung themselves, as well as with customers, suppliers and other functional groups to ensure goals are achieved. You will also provide managerial and technical direction in product / process design, development or research. You will create and maintain an organizational climate / culture which encourages innovation, collaboration, excitement / commitment and a sense of urgency towards business success. Work group size will varies over 15 employees with a budget to $5M to $10M. You will continually learn and stay abreast of innovative technology, develop as a strategic thinker, and deepen your professional network.

In this role, you will also deepen your knowledge base of Caterpillar’s products, technologies, processes, services and systems, which you will use to:
1. Lead work group to complete objectives in design of or maintance of products, processes, components, and systems;
2. Communicate results to global customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units;
3. Manage team’s budget on cost; and
4. Mentor and coach direct reports.

Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum;
2. Strong analytical skills; and
3. Proven team leadership skills.

Desireable Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree (or equivalent) in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
