Job Specific Knowledge:
? Responsible for weekly construction coordination meetings as required.
? Ensure that contractors comply with all aspects of the Worksite HSE Plan and policy; site regulations, permit to work and Client requirements.
? Ensue that construction contractors adhere to the latest approved for construction (AFC) project drawings, specifications, procedures and site instructions.
? Ensure by leadership and guidance, that contracted works meets all practical, commercial, requirements of productivity, quality and contract target completions.
? Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction contractors. Maintain daily supervisory surveillance checks and records ensuring that contractor’s management and supervision are providing safe working conditions and permitting procedures, all required competent personnel, protective equipment, adequate supervision and manpower, with reliable, well maintained equipment to execute the contracted works as per contract schedule and targets.
? Routinely study, check and review all contractor scope as detailed in drawings, specifications and instructions, ensuring contractors proper interpretation and compliance with the lasted AFC drawings and specifications.
? Ensure proper change control by issuing Field Instructions for all changes, reviewing Technical Queries to ensure responses are appropriate and practical, and reviewing Advanced Revision notices prior to issue to contractors to ensure correct use of construction resources.
? Ensure contractors dimensional control methods for checking that the works are properly set out. Supervise specialist surveying contractors where necessary.
? Ensure supervisors carry out the witness, inspection and surveillance checks in accordance with the FWW Quality Plan and the requirements of the Quality Control Manager.
? Ensure that contractors are working in the required work areas, locations and elevations and that work sequence and interfaces with other contractors are both coordinated and planned to provide continuous working to meet contract schedules.
? Ensure that all quality control checks and tests are instigated, with records maintained and available and area release in accordance with contractors ITP.
? Ensure practical security and protection of the works
? Ensure that all construction materials, embedded items, special fixtures are approved for use and that they are stored, protected and available to workface locations as required.
? Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with the agreed method statements.
? Ensure that a risk assessment has been undertaken and agreed prior to commencement of any new type of work activity.
? Maintain supervisory attendance at Tool Box talk and pre start meetings.
? Promote and maintain Client, MWP and sub-contractor best practice working relationships.
? Maintain site diary to reflect an accurate record of the status of works surveillance and inspections performed, contractor manpower and deployment etc. The Supervisors diary is to be available for reference and retained until such time as all of the Contracts are closed.
? Good knowledge of project construction and completions execution processes and procedure.
? Good knowledge of EMS construction processes and procedures.
? Participate in the early development of the overall Construction Management execution strategy, working in consultation with Business Unit / Project Managers.
? Coordinating early constructability input into Design, schedule and cost development.
? Sub-contractor management including evaluating Sub-Contractor capability, and assisting as applicable in the evaluation of contractor proposals, and establishment of appropriate controls with the Project Controls group.
Industry Specific Experience:
? +10 years of solar experience in construction management, preferably around Shanxi.
? Experiences in Wind or fossil projects will be a plus
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
? Bachelor degree or equivalent qualifications
HSE Capability:
? Good HSE experience
IT Skills:
? Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software: PROJECT; Knowledge of Primavera
People Skills:
? Good communication
? Good leadership and relationship
? Ability to deal with conflicting priorities in a ‘minority shareholder’ environment
Other:
? English read and write capability.
