Lead effort to reduce tooling kickoff to launch time to less than 8 weeks.

Work with manufacturing teams to review operations, identify opportunities and manufacturing process improvements.

Drive capital appropriations process to purchase equipment and partner with manufacturing team to install, debug, train and startup new equipment.

Assist with developing and executing a plan for acquiring the core competency of die design and build in each of the global facilities.

Manage global tool builds and pilot runs to ensure accurate communication and adherence to Kohler tooling standards and expectations.

Review, improve and standardize tooling preventative maintenance program. This should include tracking of the numbers of cycles a tool has operated and be a cycle based program.

Develop positive working relationships with the new product development teams and provide regular design input/support.

Specify and request tooling estimates from vendors that achieve lowest cost, process reliability, volume and timing requirements to obtain the optimum tooling solution for the Global Faucets die casting facilities. Specifications will include mold construction, machine size, desired cycle time, material, geometry and any other special requirements.

Standardize tooling vendors used for providing cost estimates. Tracking of quote time and tooling cost should be maintained for regular evaluation of tooling vendor performance. Verify quotations are competitive versus supplier tooling quotes.

Minimum of Bachelor of Science degree from an engineering discipline.

Fluent in English is a requirement

A minimum of 7 years of experience with die casting tooling and/or manufacturing processes for brass and zinc components.

A very strong die casting background with emphasis on tooling design/manufacturing, tooling cost estimation and preventative maintenance is a requirement.

A strong metallurgical processes background with emphasis foundry processes.

Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to identify/prioritize projects of value for the organization

The ability to manage projects and work in a team project environment is required.

Experience with mold design and CREO/PRO E software is preferred but not required.

Experience with CAM software and MasterCAM/NX CAM software is preferred but not required.

Experience with mold flow/die flow and ProCAST/Magmasoft software is preferred but not required.

Experience with toolroom machinery (Milling, Lathe, Grinding, etc.) is preferred but not required.

Proficiency using a Personal Computer and various programs such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project).
