JOB SUMMARY

Quality Engineer owns the full responsibility in implementing quality requirements into the New Product Development process, utilizes quality tools to help develop robust and low cost manufacturing line, and teamwork with Quality Assurance to make a smooth transition to Mass Production stage. Also should give QA support in mass production stage.

General Responsibility:

The Quality Engineer (QE) is responsible for ensuring that new product designs are fully compliant with external regulatory requirements and Dorel Industries internal safety, reliability, and quality requirements.

Main duties

1. Work with Divisions, Dorel China Engineering, and Suppliers to ensure Division' quality requirements, testing protocols, sampling needs, and product/ process controls are fully understood and met.
2. Support Division, Dorel China Engineering, and Suppliers through Product Development milestones to ensure Quality deliverables are provided on a timely basis.
3. Provide Division's support for the creation and implementation of design specific test methodologies.
4. Provide guidance during product debug through testing, analysis of testing results, and Suggestions for improvements/solutions to address any substandard results.
5. Coordinate all required third party testing to qualify new products by working with 3rd party labs, regulatory bodies and/or retailer testing programs.
6. Work with Quality Assurance to ensure a smooth transition from the development phase to the production phase of the product's lifecycle.
7. Ensure all required Quality related Product Development documents are acquired, maintained and filed in the appropriate Quality folder. Documentation includes, Division engineering and quality requirements, drawings (when applicable), graphic approvals, internal and external test reports, emails relevant to product design direction/decisions.
8. Review Division quality, consumer and retailer feedback data to provide product improvement support. Work with Dorel China Quality Assurance and Engineering to address any issues identified.
9. Work with Dorel China Project Engineer to review all aspects of product and package, Graphics/instructions to ensure compliance and accuracy.
10. Provide ongoing product and testing technical support to Division, Dorel China Engineering, Quality Assurance and Global Souring for ECN's, NCR's, Cost Reductions and souring decisions.

Qualifications/Requirements

1. College or University Degree required, engineering related degree preferred.
2. With strong conception on quality prevention for new product development. Must have experience on quality control document setting and test method defining.
3. Familiar with manufacture program, such as stamping, plastic injection and extrusion etc. Can read 2D drawing with good undstandarding.
4. 5-year working experience in related field, Have experience on juvenile product is better. Be Quality Engineering three years at least.
5. Good command of Written and spoken English
6. Knowledgeable in the use of the Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
7. Good communication skills.
8. No color blindness.
