JOB SUMMARY

The Project Engineer is responsible for new product （metal and/or upholstered products） development – on time and on spec. He shall be accountable for product schedule management, general project management, and engineering throughout the debug, and production stages. He should be required to ensure that all new products are produced within the developmental timeline, and also comply with product specifications and all regulatory standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead development process from product specifications release through mass production.
2. Evaluate engineering and pre-production samples to confirm that the samples conform to the product specifications, testing requirements, and regulatory standards.
3. Review product BOM for accuracy as well as manufacturing cost reduction opportunities.
4.Provide recommendations for engineering design and offering workable solutions for all manufacturing failures.
5. Monitor ongoing project schedules.
6. File updated product specification files before product released to production.
7. Travel to suppliers as necessary to ensure engineering debug is completely successful and on schedule.
8. Work with Quality team to identify products in need of improvement, and execute engineering changes and corrective actions as necessary throughout product lifecycle.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
1. University graduate degree or above in Mechanical design & Engineering related fields required.
2. Minimum 3 years work experience in relevant industries, preferably in metal/wood furniture and/or experience with ladder, step stool, metal bed, bunk bed or any kinds of upholstered furniture.
3. Knowledge about metal, wood, fabric, PU, foam and/or upholstered process.
4. Experience in project management, problem solving, and design trouble shooting.

SKILLS:
1/ Good command of English and Chinese in both speaking and writing is essential.
2/ Good planning skills.
3/ Attention to detail.
4/ Confidence in using computer packages, such as 3D software, spreadsheets and databases.
5/ Ability to work under pressure to deadlines.
6/ Ability to deal with a variety of issues at the same time.
