BASIC FUNCTIONS

The Project Managers of the Asian Sourcing Office, work to enhance Trimas profitability, productivity & efficiency in the region. Project managers are responsible for all Trimas SBU new project sourcing & development in China. The Project Managers manage supplier relationship, implement Trimas sourcing strategy in the region through negotiation, contract adherences, on-going supplier performance evaluation & any other expertise. The project managers need to establish strong communication lines & collaboration with all SBU associates around the world.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

？ Be responsible for RFQ completion of any new products to be sourced from China or other quotation activity needed from Corporate & SBUs.
？ Working with SBU project leaders to manage projects implementation at China vendors, ensure projects launch on time, on quality, on cost.
？ Work with SQE to provide technical support in project launching. Conduct project kick off meeting, review product spec & drawing requirements with suppliers; review tooling & gauge design, review prototype samples before submitting to SBUs; conduct pre-pilot run review meeting to address any issues occurred in project launching, monitor 1st production at suppliers.
？ Establish strong communication lines & collaboration with all SBU associates around the world, assist SBUs in managing supplier relationship.
？ Working with ASO supply chain team to ensure suppliers’ on time delivery.
？ Working with ASO quality team to promptly react upon quality issues & continuous quality improvement at suppliers.
？ Setup supplier scorecard, manages supplier performance include cost, productivity, quality, delivery & innovation.
？ Assist SBUs to negotiate with suppliers on cost & terms to meet SBU targets.
？ Improve efficiencies by analyzing current conditions and applying process improvements where needed. Working with suppliers to generate cost saving ideas & push through to SBUs.
？ Continuously sourcing for lower price supplier base with required quality level.
？ Complies with all applicable laws, and regulations.



POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Related Bachelors degree. Minimum three years related experience. Strong in negotiation, communication & project management.
