Introduction
The Operational Excellence Manager will be responsible for the development of Operational Excellence Strategies for the Company and Management of Engineering and Technical staff in the Lean Engineering group.

Responsibilities
? Develop & execute strategic plans for implementation of lean culture in alignment with the ABB's Operational Excellence Culture
? Responsible for the overall leadership and process development in the areas of Engineering for all engineered-to-ordered and assembled-to-order custom orders
? Driving the company wide quality system initiative with primarily focused on Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Delivery
? Drives the change management necessary to implement effective lean manufacturing operations
? Aligns improvement strategies to business profit plan for delivery, cost, quality improvements to meet plant objectives and drive Operational Excellence
? Act as a subject matter expert to analyze, evaluates and models existing processes, plan, proactively develops and drives the Continuous Improvement policies, practices, procedures, techniques and services
? Emphasizes differentiator by benchmarking and providing competitive analyses of peer group best in class, drive improvement, consults, organizes, leads and facilitates cross-functional initiatives including: mapping business processes, gathering and analyzing process data to identify root cause problems, identifying areas of process improvements, and use of process techniques to develop solutions to improve and enable measurable results in process efficiency, customer satisfaction, product quality, and financial savings
? Create the future state Map as it relates to shortened value streams, manufacturing strategies, cross-functional processes, and the establishment of uniform policies and procedures
? Develops metrics that provide data for process management and indicators for future improvement opportunities and prepares teams with the tools, infrastructure, etc. to help determine solutions
? Provides leadership and coaching to direct reports to ensure proactive deployment initiatives to support the business strategies and plans

Resource Qualifications
Masters Degree in Business, Engineering or Engineering or Industrial Technology


Computer Skills
? Microsoft office programs including: Excel, Work and Power point, (Projects is advantageous)
? SAP Knowledge is an advantage

Work experience
? Minimum of 10 years experience working with Lean tools/Continuous Improvement with proven "hands on" experience
? Multiple years of related professional and Supervisory/Managerial experience, preferably in production/process/manufacturing engineering
? Experience of applying Continuous Improvement in low volume / high mix environments
? Strong background in Training and mentoring Lean concepts at multiple levels
? Demonstrated strategic ability, business acumen and change leadership capability
? Strong interpersonal and leadership skill set
? Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and relationships at multiple locations and leverage diversity in a global enterprise
? Demonstrated ability to influence the directions and attainment of objectives without having direct control over resources
? Ability to direct and lead cross-functional process improvement teams
