Responsibilities

The design and development of the Electronic hardware of new products or new test equipment.
To conduct research into circuit design (if necessary) at the early stages of projects including EMC analysis.
To use EDA software to create circuit diagrams, PCB layouts and PCB's
To develop prototype boards and adequately test them.
To develop test specification and procedure for ICT and FCT of PCBA to make sure the PCBA from production line can meet design requirement.
To work with the sourcing team and the supplier to coordinate the manufacturing and assembly of PCBA's.
Inspect completed products and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
To assist in producing the appropriate documentation required by manufacturing to build the new products including:

Layout drawings
Bill of materials
Assemble
Test procedures

To assist in all stages of the development process including the handover to manufacturing.
To design electronic test equipment using LabVIEW software.
To assist with trouble shooting in manufacturing
To assist with customer complaints and service
To suggest process/product improvements

Qualifications

A minimum of a degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Electronic Engineering or related subject
Ideally a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or related subject, such as Instrument, Automation.

Skills
An experienced user of PCB design software for example; Protel, PowerPCB but ideally Mentor graph.
Ideally an experienced user of LabVIEW.
All common Microsoft office programs including: Excel, Work and Power point

Work experience
At least 2 years working experience working in an Engineering environment. Ideally in a company that develops products; for example: Automotive, Pharmaceutical, Consumer goods, instrumentation etc.
To have worked as an Electrical Design Engineer would be a benefit but Engineers who have worked in any of the following departments would be considered:

Research and development
Design and development
Production engineering / Industrial engineering.
