Responsibilities:

Developing the Aqua products strategy, developing new features, prioritizing features and releases, helping to grow ABB's Electromagnetic Flow business
Having a passion for technology and creating a world-class user experience in a cutting-edge and fast-changing environment.
Building and growing partnerships with technology partners, vendors, and multiple internal technology and support teams
Manage the ongoing life-cycle of the current offering
Building and guiding product positioning and messaging, and drive the strategic direction of product portfolio
Analysis of the Electromagnetic Flow Aqua product portfolio profitability, both short and long term on a global business perspective by periodic product portfolio analysis
Recommend production sites per product, worldwide for PG approval



Main Accountabilities:

· Ensure that the PL budget and financial commitments are met or exceeded.

· Support pricing decisions for target projects by managing which PMU will be used for supply and coordinating the preparation of Full Cost Models.

· Recommend internal sales prices between manufacturing units, for PG approval

· Initiate benchmarks internal and external for product costs and product functionality

· Initiate and request product development pre- and feasibility-studies

· Identify needed product features to drive R&D projects

· Act as gate owner for R&D projects up to G2

· Act as editor of requirement specifications in product development

· Review and reconsider product development in case of deviations from requirement specification

· Plan and follow up periodic product quality reviews of production sites in co-operation with the Technical Lead Centers

· Define the Global Product Portfolio Strategy, for PG approval

· Prioritize development projects within agreed budget frame

· Drive and follow up initiatives to optimize competitiveness i.e. low cost sourcing

· Initiate product launch process on an international scale

· Ensure compliance with ABB group initiatives on product level (e.g. naming policy, common look and feel, etc.)

· Together with the Global Product Manager decide on product development projects in line with BU Strategy

· Maintain and develop technologies competence

· Sharing best practices identified by Global Operations

· Overview competitor landscape

· Maintain and promote integrity and business ethics at all time


Challenges:

· Management of global product environment to ensure effective support of global FES units.

· Competency development in the FES units to sell the value of the PL's portfolio.



Knowledge, Skills, Experience:

· Proven success with product launches and lifecycle management of enterprise products in a high tech industry for at least 5 years

· Knowledge of market requirements for instrumentation and automation in the Process or Utility sectors.

· Superior communication skills, developing and socializing strategic plans across organizational boundaries

· Experience with driving strategic change, interacting with senior leadership on a regular basis

· Development and management of product roadmaps

· Experience with business case development and creating financial metrics to measure performance of product development and management activities

· Significant experience with cross-functional product, combination of operations/process improvement as well as market-defining functionality

· BS in Engineering required, MBA preferred
