职位描述

VIKING is a global market leader of life saving appliances (LSA) and loose firefighting equipment (LFF) to vessels and offshore installations. The company enjoys a strong market position in the world. The projects you will be supporting will however be worldwide. Your primary focus will however be supporting the sales organizations responsible for Korea, Singapore and China. To a lesser extend also projects handled from our European offices.


VIKING has 72 own branches in 27 countries, but has located a team of 7 persons in Shanghai that specializes in the offshore new building packages. You will work closely with another colleague who has the same job function.

As sales engineer your primary task will be to support the sales organization in securing orders for large projects and that they can be expedited in accordance with the contractual obligations and in accordance with customer’s and VIKING’s requirements. Especially focus should be on ensuring that customer expectations and VIKING’s qualifications are matched prior to signing a contract.


Key areas and tasks:


Offshore LSA/LFF quotations

· Do pre-qualification documentation for bid preparations

· Assist sales staff prepare cost calculations according to customers requirement and specification

· Prepare technical bid according to customers requirement and specification

· Conduct technical bid evaluation with customers engineering departments or design companies.

· When necessary do sourcing of new items as per customers requirement

· Participate in technical bid evaluation meetings prior to contract signing when required

· Update CRM system with new opportunities according to VIKING’s policies

· Update status of opportunities when submitting quotations, winning or losing orders

· Participate in internal sales meetings

· Ensure that the project team manager is notified well in advance of new projects to ensure that necessary resources can be assigned timely


Project execution support

· Conduct hand over meetings to the assigned project responsible

· Ensure that the project folder is updated with sub-suppliers quotations and technical information

· Assist project responsible in technical clarifications and product selection in case of scope changes

· Act as a resource person for sales staff, firstly within the region, secondly at a global scale, to assist in clarifications and technical support.




Your secondary task is to support the product management team and local manager with updates and changes in customers’ requirements so that our product portfolio and project management process can be updated to constantly follow the latest trends in the market.


You are expected to conduct business in a manner, which enhances the image of VIKING as a premium brand of high integrity and reliability.


You are also expected to be a team player and have a positive, ‘can do’, professional and helpful attitude towards colleagues and customers, both in and out of the office.


Number of travel days: 5 – 10 % of working time.

· Has fluent spoken and written English

· Experience from the offshore industry

· Flair for technical matters

· Strong ability to build confidence in our sales team from all different nationalities
