Position Overview:
The purpose of the Trade Marketing Manager is to increase the demand at wholesaler, retailer and distributor level by developing, communicating and monitoring the execution of the Trade Marketing Strategy (central and local) to ultimate reaching corporate business objectives.
This position is a key role to integrate the knowledge and expertise of the Marketing and Sales departments in order to produce effective channel marketing programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establishing channel strategies; developing and implementing the associated plans by Region and City in order to increase the presence and ultimate take-away of Company’s products
- Driving and supporting the development and execution of various channel plans with specific focus in POP (point of purchase), New Product Development (NPD) launch and Key Accounts Joint Working Plans
- Planning, evaluating , and approving POP Plans and Trade Marketing Activities by Channel and City indications
- Setting objectives and priorities with relation to the various channels and monitoring the correct execution and effectiveness of the marketing programs
- Launching new products and achieving market penetration by using retail channel knowledge and influencing assortment choices
- Initiating, managing and reviewing the annual planning process
- Coordinating and monitoring city expansion programs by selecting and cooperating with distributors
- Selecting and evaluating third-party vendors to deliver an efficient and cost effective solution on project-by-project basis according to company’s guidelines
- Developing and maintaining positive liaisons with external contacts to gather market information; develop competitor strategy assesstment Nationally and by Region
- Keep up to date with market insights and developments and translate into strategic, tactical and operational plans for the Trade Marketing department
- Generating quarterly reports and monthly reviews for Managing Director about Trade Marketing developments
- Other special projects as assigned
Role Coverage, Responsibility and Decision Making Authority:
- The region scope is China Mainland
Management / Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading in matrix, 10 sales team members regarding the Trade Marketing side
Qualification/ Competencies/ Position Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Solid experience in Trade Marketing role; In-depth knowledge of Chinese Trade Marketing & Sales, Channel dynamics and business development
- Proven track record of developing and supporting distribution networks throughout China
- Knowledge of a strategic planning process with experience in new city openning and growth planning
- Commercial and organizational awareness, experience in multi-media marketing branded programs
- Extensive contact network among key players and target channels
- Great numerical and negotiation abilities. Organized, street-smart, independent, proactive, problem- solver and energetic personality
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years experience in FMCG category, preferable in dairy, juice & beverages or non-fresh products. Supervisory or management experience of a team is a must
- Bachelor degree is a must. Master’s degreee will be an advantage
- Chinese native, English is a must (Level 6 CET)
Working Hours and Traveling Requirements:
- Ability to travel as required by the role (up to 40-50% of the time) and ocassionally overseas
- Required to be available during events planned on evenings and weekends and regularly being active outside normal working hours
Compensation Level
- Basic salary + Bonus on performance
