JOB SUMMARY

REACh / Chemical engineer is responsible for ensuring Quality BOM collection and homologation certificate collection from suppliers before mass productions, Quality BOM maintenance and update all along the year.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1. During the Product Development cycle, REACh / Chemical Engineer will work with Quality Engineering, Engineering and purchasing in order to make sure the suppliers understand their obligations regarding REACh compliance with DOREL EU REACh policy.

2. REACh / Chemical Engineer is contact window for all concerns or questions suppliers might have regarding common work space (TEAMSPACE), Quality BOM instructions/FAQ.

3. Pro-active deployment of the REACH project with suppliers and other DCN departments with constant trainings and follow-up meetings. Trainings intent is to keep have suppliers working on REACh and share latest update on REACH regulation (Blacklist, reference document updated...).

4. Review and ensure that Quality BOM provided by suppliers are in accordance with DEU REACh quality BOM policy. Keep verify and notify suppliers that product changes are authorized, but must be declared and BOM must be updated in time (Supplier changes, product changes, material changes) with the initial approval of DEU on concerned changes.

5. BOM creations follow up; call suppliers, visit suppliers, communicate internally difficulties faced by suppliers.

6. Investigate suppliers ERP system in order to evaluate how easily suppliers can constantly and efficiently update DEU quality BOM if there are changes on the products (raw material changes...)

7. Organize, control and maintain information consistency on common work space.

8. Organize and perform raw material audit in suppliers factories according information provided in Quality BOM.

9. Discuss and maintain Ext labs prices list and discounts, inform DEU suppliers.

10. Provide monthly feedback to all DEU/DCN teams on BOM collection status.

11. Assist in the development of a quality improvement strategy from Division regarding REACh and homologation certificate collection job.

12. Inform the REACH project-team on a monthly basis




JOB REQUIREMENT



SKILLS:



1. Proficient in English reading and writing. Good spoken English

2. Good communication skills, will to convince, tenacity, self confidence

3. Proactive, independent and enthusiast

4. Can work in political difficult situations

5. Knowledgeable in the use of the Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.

6. Proactive self-starter, team player, good analytical skills, attention to detail.

7. Administration skills




EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Must have

1. Project management experience in foreign companies.

2. College Degree, Technical Degree or above

3. Experience with Chemicals, testing labs,

4. Experience in Juvenile Products, Toys, Furniture, or Bicycle is preferred but NOT A MUST

Nice to have

5. Some knowledge of chemicals, lab testing, EU laws, REACh, RoHS, chemical regulations, plastic materials, paint materials, coatings. (or willing to learn this)

6. Working experience in Quality related field
