职位描述
? Ensure that vendors meet the highest quality standards so Thermal Systems can maintain and enhance their position in the world marketplace.
? Interface with Global Commodity Managers, Advanced Purchasing Managers, Program Managers and Thermal manufacturing operations for the development and release of Best-in-Class Suppliers to BorgWarner according to Commodity Strategies.
? Ensure that the supplier development organization is supporting Thermal new product launch activities utilizing BorgWarner common supplier quality launch processes (BW Supplier Manual, Site Assessments, Risk Management, APQP, Early Production Containment, PPAP, We-Are-Ready Audits, Run @ Rate, etc.). Provide leadership for developing these skills with the supply base.
? Identify and work with high-impact suppliers. Represent supply base readiness for new product launches within the BW Executive Oversight Team Process.
? Drive the rigorous use of APQP processes; including Technical Reviews for new product launches, reviewing critical characteristics, FMEAs, control plans, and pass through characteristic, prior to PPAP submission and release (including thorough PPAP approval oversight).
? Provide support to Quality/Operations in supplier improvement initiatives by utilizing the BorgWarner common supplier quality improvement processes (3rd party controlled shipping, process audits, problem resolution (8D), pass through characteristic reviews, Supplier Conferences, etc.).
? Provides assistance to suppliers to meet BorgWarner supplier expectations and requirements as stated in the BorgWarner Supplier Quality Manual.
? Interface with appropriate industry trade groups and the BW Enterprise Commodity team to identify and implement best practices internally and within the supply base.
? New Technology: In conjunction with Thermal Engineering and Commodity Management and Advanced Purchasing, identify and develop new and emerging supplier technologies for use in Morse TEC & Thermal products.
? Identify possible opportunities with vendors that might lead to
- Partnerships
- Joint Ventures
- Technical Agreements
- LTA’s (Long-Term Agreements)

? Bachelor’s degree required.
? Engineering degree desirable.
? Negotiation training a must.
? Certification in Quality Management is desirable.
? Ten years automotive industry experience required.
? Work with electronics, aluminum & iron castings and stampings preferred
