The Product Director manages all aspects of the product development and sourcing operation for his/her product category business unit. He/she is responsible for the business unit’s financial targets and will develop a long term growth strategy for the category. With teams in different offices the Director will work closely with customers, our US teams and all internal service units.

Report to: Senior Vice President

Job Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for Business Unit
- Define long-term growth plan and strategy for the category
- Close collaboration with US team to develop a comprehensive product road map
- Work closely internally with the Product Development & Design department and externally with suppliers to come up with new ideas for creative new product development
- Drive teams to identify and deliver new product development project Draft/Co-draft product brief for new projects
- Review and assess new product initiatives
- Lead the process of product sourcing within Asia including vendor identification, quotation, and cost negotiation
- Train teams to achieve continuous cost reductions while maintaining or improving product quality
- Develop and implement sound project management processes, procedures and systems
- Monitor project progress and submit reports to upper management
- Ensure all factories are compliant and can service all of our international retail operations
- Hire, train, manage and motivate staff and build a world-class, dedicated product development team

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required in business management, purchasing, operations management or appropriate discipline
- A minimum work experience of 10 years is required with the majority in a product development driven business
- Proactive and possess a creative and entrepreneurial mindset with strong problem solving skill
- Previous hard goods product development and sourcing experience in Asia
- Strong management and leadership experience - ideally with teams in multiple locations
- Extensive Home Décor, Garden Décor, Storage and Organization, Sports & Leisure, Home Textiles, Kitchen or Furniture product experience. Deep knowledge & experience in Hangers, Closet, Storage and Furniture will be a big plus
- Experience in dealing with US retail and/or European retailers and with extensive market knowledge
- Work experience in sizeable company with strong trading and product development background is essential
- Good supervision and presentation skill
- Excellent negotiation, communication, planning, analytical and management skill
- Experience in complex project management across a portfolio of top retailers
- Extensive travel within Asia and potentially North America
- Must be fluent in English. Mandarin is a big plus
