Mission
The Quality Engineer (Cover) is a key role in her/his assigned product category of Premium Juvenile products. He/she is responsible for following up defined qualification procedure to make sure products and components of textile covers fully evaluated and tested to meet pertained quality and safety requirements for NPD, Product Modification and or Product Transfer by following, developing, and implementation of quality tools and procedures, and teamwork with Quality Assurance to make a smooth transition to Mass Production stage.
Main duties
Work with counterparts of Divisions, DJC Program/Product/Supplier Management pillars, and Suppliers to ensure Division’ quality requirements, testing protocols, sampling needs, and product/ process controls are fully understood and met.
Support Division, DJC Program/Product/Supplier Management pillars, and Suppliers through Product Development milestones to ensure Quality deliverables are provided on a timely basis.
Provide Division’s support for the creation and implementation of design specific test methodologies.
Provide guidance during product debug through testing, analysis of testing results, and Suggestions for improvements/solutions to address any substandard results.
Work with Quality Assurance to ensure a smooth transition from the development phase to the production phase of the product’s lifecycle.
Ensure all required Quality related Product Development documents are acquired, maintained and filed in the appropriate Quality folder. Documentation includes, Division engineering and quality requirements, drawings (when applicable), fashion/collect spec, internal and external test reports, emails relevant to product design direction/decisions.
Review Division quality, consumer and retailer feedback data to provide product improvement support. Work with DJC Quality Assurance and Program/Product management pillars to address any quality issues identified and provide CAP.
Work with DJC Product Engineer to review all aspects of product and package Graphics/instructions to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Provide ongoing product and testing technical support to Division, DJC Program/Product/Supplier Management, Quality Assurance and Global Souring for ECN’s, NCR’s, Cost Reductions and souring decisions.
Perform the regular audit for the Key production processes, including but not limited to such as from the cutting process until the finished production, including the calculation.
Level knowledge & experience
College Degree or above required
Solid experience with Juvenile Products, familiar with all sewing process and knowledge of fabric, experience developing soft goods patterns, specifications and material consumption diagrams mandatory, experience using garment CAD software (Lectra/Gerber) will be a plus but not essential.
Over 3-years working experience in Quality field is required and over 1 year working in QE and or Lab testing function is expected. 3-year working experience in related field, have experience on juvenile product is better. Be Quality Engineering one year at least.
Good understanding of the quality and test requirements, quality engineering and or quality assurance process for the category products or similar is a must.
Experience on Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma is preferred
