Roles & Responsibilities

1. Understand the requirements and specifications of project deliverables assigned by the Senior Merchandiser.

2. Evaluate the NPD brief against sample or specifications provided ensure the NPD brief is correct in terms of functionality, material specification, testing requirements and packaging information providing rough carton dimensions for inner and outer qty and pass to Merchandiser.

3. Work with Merchandiser and Vendors on products that do not reach our target costs, either by re engineering or making the product fit for selling purposes.

4. Before Red Seal is requested from the vendor, Product Engineer to work with the Merchandiser and Product Designer to check product design artwork is correct for content description, correct material, size, components, and qty if any discrepancies work with the designer to amend product design artwork.

5. Product Engineer will send all shipping marks and labeling requirements to the vendor, along with all Gold Seal sample requests.

6. Product Engineer to evaluate the Red Seal Sample according to product design artwork and issue a detailed report indicating if the Red Seal has been passed or failed, if failed inform Merchandiser and vendors to re submit Red Seal for approval. If the Red Seal has failed for minor points Product Engineer to propose comments to HK NPD to be advised to the customer. Update the project milestone as required.

7. Product Engineer to approve all print proof, labeling, shipping mark and Gold Seal sample submission with the vendor, any improvement discuss with Order Coordinator or the vendor directly, chase HK Sales for customer approval, provide the vendor a signed print proof and Gold Seal sample for their reference as well as keeping one for FPL Group reference. Update the project milestone as required.

8. Product Engineer to make a Product Specification Sheet after Red Seal is approved by the customer.

Requirements

1. Minimum 5 years of working experience in product engineering area.

2. Experience in working for a trading business in similar ranges will be preferable.

3. Experience in value engineering.

4. Ability to work under own initiative with minimum supervision.

5. Dynamic, hands on and with "can do" attitude in a high-growth, fast-paced and demanding environment.

6. Good project management and prioritization skills.

7. Good command of written English.
