General Description
This Position responsible for the implementation and execution of the NII Quality System in a remote site environment. Responsible for daily quality system basic operation process including internal, supplier and customer quality assurance and monitoring of quality procedures and quality processes execution.
Responsibilities:
· Lead and liaison with regional buyers to maintain supplier quality system, audit schedule for both surveillance and first article audits with remote site supplier base.
· Responsible for champion the effectiveness of remote site supplier corrective actions as required-identification for certified product, ensure areas of part requiring extraordinary inspection efforts are completed and documented. Lead/conduct quality system audits at off shore supplier site.
· Assist regional buyer on components selection.
· Understand specifications for power and control components.
· Implement NII's Continuous Improvement / Cost Reduction Programs and activities as required.
· Lead site NII's Quality System Audits as related to ISO9001.
· Train site NII team on Quality Policies and Procedures as required.
· Lead site Team on daily activities as related to Quality Engineering, inspection and supplier quality items where applicable.
· Lead on-floor efforts to ensure process attainment and control are achieved with each production department where applicable.
· Issue and monitoring the effectiveness of quality alerts, deviations, nonconforming material controls, layer process audits, calibration and lessons learned database as required to receiving and work cells as required. (Measurable)
· Implement all products requiring extraordinary inspection efforts are completed and documented.
· Review of all Customer Complaints as issued through Service for immediate Corrective Action.
· Perform audit on each process as it is related to any specific program using Control Plans / FMEA's / Process Flows, etc on regular intervals.
· Implement and maintain the APQP (Advance Product Quality Plan) process.
· Lead and maintain Quality System Basics Program.
· Responsible for analysis and input of quality data and tracking of all outstanding quality related corrective actions. (Measurable)
· Responsible for input, logging, and reporting of monthly quality metrics and update daily quality assurance metrics.
· Attend and participating in quality meetings or conference calls as required.
· Notify the Quality Manager of any outstanding action item and distribute multiple copies of the quality data when necessary to expedite the quality review and PPSR (Practical Problem Solving Report) process.
· Responsible for review and release of Quality documents (Control plans, inspection work instructions, logs, etc.), assist in update of PFMEA, process flows and assembly work instructions used throughout the supplier's manufacturing plants.
· Lead corrective actions process (internal and supplier) and validate effectiveness of implemented actions such as containment, and control of nonconforming products.
· Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of NII's quality processes.
· Ensure all forms, checklists, training material, production support documents are ISO9001 compliance.
· Implement and execute the coordination of Statistical Process Control for product quality at contracted manufacturer and supplier base. (Measurable)
· Initiate and supervise NII's continuous improvement / Cost Reduction initiatives for supplier quality.
· Any other duty as assigned by the Quality Manager.
EDUCATION REQUIRED
· Must have received an Electrical Engineering (Electric Power Systems and Automation) Degree or equivalent.
· Must have a Regional Academic Certificate in English or an equivalent.
· Quality Assurance Certificate / diploma or equivalent.
· Certified Quality Engineer, Six-sigma Black Belt,Quality Manager or equivalent experience. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
· Minimum of 1-2 years direct Quality engineer experience.
· Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· Corrective Action / Root Cause Analysis training.
· Experience in ISO 9001 Quality Management System Audit.
· Intermediate level or above understanding of Microsoft computer based programs.
· Knowledge of microelectronic circuits.
· Understanding of communication protocols.
· Familiar of power electronic circuits and control strategies.
· Knowledge of simulation techniques will be an asset. OTHER REQUIREMENTS
