Introduction

MCC Transport Singapore PTE Ltd. (MCC) is the Intra-Asia container shipping arm of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group. The company operates over 60 container vessels varying in size from 1000 to 5000 TEU and making over 600 port calls per month. MCC’s headquarters are based in Singapore with offices in another 14 offices spread throughout Asia, providing services in a geographical scope from Bangladesh to Far Eastern Russia.


The Position

We are looking for a cargo execution analyst within the MCC Operations Department. The position reports to FEA MCC Cargo Project Manager, and will be based in Shanghai.


Primary Role

The MCC Transport operation department is overall responsible for the efficient, reliable, safe and sustainable operation of all marine and marine terminal products within its geography. This includes all owned and chartered vessels and all CY terminals/ports.

It is accountable for cargo operations management in the terminal in intra Asia. This role will be responsible for managing the physical movement of cargo in ocean terminals in line with the transport planning in the most efficient and cost effective way.

The challenging CGO role will also be responsible for vessel utilization in view of optimizing the assets at the lowest cost. The role consists of setting standards process, operating procedure, measuring performance, and engaging process improvement with various stakeholders which are required to produce higher levels of performance.


Job Responsibilities

  • Directly accountable for cargo operation management in the terminal/ports within MCC Network.
  • Own, drive and manage contingency plan/exception handling relating to Cargo Operations Management.
  • Own and drive high vessel utilization in view of optimizing the assets at the lowest cost.
  • Setting and maintaining operating procedures and deadlines.
  • Maintaining relationship with terminals/ports and various internal parties.
  • Performance measurement.
  • Driving continuous process improvement project and performance culture.

Position Specifications

To qualify for the position, the ideal candidate should have the following educational backgrounds, technical qualifications, broad level of experiences and following personal traits:

  • Diploma or Bachelor Graduate.
  • Excellent in English verbal and written communication.
  • Job Knowledge & Competency;

- Good understanding of the operational business processes across the container business scope.

- Preferably having good understanding of AP Moller Maersk container business process and system.

  • Experience/acumen in working in container business networks.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in operations, capacity or customer service.
  • Self starter and strong result driver.
  • Strong numerical and problem solving skills. The ideal candidate is strongly preferred to have the ability to postulate solutions on a complex and cross functional issues by integrating different knowledge and system.
  • Strong continuous improvement mindset. The successful candidate is expected to be able to define, implement and execute permanent solutions to ensure long term stability of the process.
  • Convenient to work in a cross function role with different level of hierarchy.

Technical Skills

  • Microsoft office family.
  • Preferably having good understanding and experience with AP Moller Maersk system such as GSIS, RKEM, Marvel, GCSS, GLEO, CODS and etc
