Job Description:

The Consumables Sales Specialist, is a member of the global Sales team, responsible for selling and promoting company products, in order to drive revenue growth. The successful candidate must demonstrate previous life science reagents sales experience. The successful candidate will be an active member of the sales force, providing demonstrations, trainings, guidance and development to academic, pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations. The incumbent will implement the sales plan designed to achieve revenue goals, as well as actively contact prospective and current company customers.


Responsibilities: Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and develop customer relationship on a short and long term basis
  • Actively create new business opportunities, generate sales leads and send activity reports on a weekly basis.
  • Follow up promptly with company issued sales leads.
  • Coordinate the transition from an initial sale to an ongoing customer account.
  • Generate sales quotes and manage the sales territory and achieve sales targets.
  • Focus on the strategic development of key accounts by implementing and updating account planning.
  • Ensure that all necessary resources required are used efficiently and effectively to close sales.
  • Provide detailed information on client’s needs to marketing department
  • Help prepare customer specific promotion, seminars and exhibitions to support strategic goals.
  • Act as liaison for customers in your territory, providing or seeking out technical support when needed.
  • Must have reliable transportation to drive within the territory, with occasional travel to scientific conferences and exhibits.


Education and Experience:

  • BS in Biochemistry or related discipline, with a minimum two years of outside sales experience related to life science consumables, or MS, with a minimum of one year relevant sales experience.
  • Ability to understand the science behind the Company product and service offerings
  • Engaging, enthusiastic and encouraging in-person and phone customer support skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • A passion to be a part of a highly motivated team in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Previous experience building new or underdeveloped territories and generating product and company awareness.
