JOB SUMMARY

This project engineer is responsible for DEU Fabric covers development and new collection follow up. He/she shall be accountable for schedule management, general project management, and engineering throughout the fabric covers cutting, sewing to production stages. He/she should be required to ensure that all new fabric covers and products are produced within the developmental timeline and also comply with product specifications and all industrial standards.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Lead the new fabric covers development process by working closely with the supplier through the fabric cutting, sewing to engineering pilot sample testing/review, final engineering approvals, release to production, and production shipment.

2. Provide recommendations for DEU Textile engineering design and offering workable solutions for manufacturing problems. Provide clear report to oversea division and local team, manage meeting with oversea division and local team to ensure modification or improvement be implemented on time.

3. Review products fabric BOM and evaluate engineering and pre-production samples to confirm that the samples conform to the product specifications, CSF, testing requirements, and regulatory standards.

4. Lead development process from engineering debugging through mass production.

5. Monitor ongoing project schedules and update development action plan record.

6. Evaluate manufacturing capability of new suppliers and assist in supplier manufacturing and performance reviews.

7. Travel to suppliers as necessary to ensure engineering debug is completely successfully and on schedule. Other occasional travel may be necessary.

8. Work with Quality team to identify products in need of improvement, and execute fabric covers engineering changes and new collection.

9. Ensure running products fabric covers conform to specifications with quality team.


JOB REQUIRMENT


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:


  1. University graduate degree or above in Textile Engineering or related fields required.
  2. Minimum 3 years work experiences in relevant industries, preferably in Juvenile products.
  3. Experience in new fabric covers product development, ability to validate new design.
  4. Experience in project management, problem solving, and design trouble shooting.
  5. Knowledge of fabric cutting, sewing and manufacturing at textile production.

SKILLS:


  1. Understanding of fabric covers design engineering and material.
  2. Able to evaluate fabric product material and quote package.
  3. Ability to manage many projects simultaneously and in the same time.
  4. Ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines. Applicant must work well in both a team environment and independently.
  5. Good command of spoken and written English is a MUST.
  6. Knowledgeable in the use of the digital pattern software and Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  7. Good communication skills.
