Job Duties
Duty Name/Description
Meeting Business Plan Goals
Establishes a business plan for the twelve territories in their control to maximize business growth and customer retention.
Knows the business plan revenue and volume growth goals and has a plan for achieving these goals.
Works with Inside Sales Account Associates to teach them how to use sales tools (i.e., the funnel) to develop appropriate sales strategies.
Ensures sales associates have the right number of accounts identified to achieve the target growth rates.
Works with Inside Sales Account Associates to prioritize accounts in order to achieve targeted growth.
Tracks results on an on-going basis and follows up to ensure sales goals are achieved.
Coaches Inside Sales Account Associates
Provides Inside Sales Account Associates with feedback on how to improve their performance and what they are doing well..
Answers questions from the Inside Sales Account Associates.
Performs DBRs (Delivering Business Results) as required to support associate development. Performs QPR (Quality Performance Reivew) as required to support associate development..
Advises Inside Sales Account Associates on their career development. Identifies training opportunities for the Inside Sales Account Associates.
Tracks training programs that sales associates have completed.
Identifying Business Opportunities/Losses
Reviews top accounts in his or her business segment. Identifies ways to secure additional business and develops retention strategies.
Provides guidance and knowledge in strategy sessions with Inside Sales Account Associates to build the business as needed.
Manages Inside Sales Account Associate Performance
Utilizes sales and management tools to tracks Inside Sales Account Associate Performance.
Provides sales associates with one-on-one feedback toward the business plan.
Works with the sales associate to develop detailed action plans to get the associate back on plan.
Holds sales associates accountable for individual performance.
Motivates sales associates and provides individual and group recognition.
Keeps sales associates motivated. Implements marketing initiatives and corporate driven programs designed to improve sales associate performance.
Removes barriers that are hindering or preventing improved sales associate performance.
Hires Inside Sales Account Associates.
Resolves sales associate performance issues in a timely, appropriate manner following UPS policies and procedures.
Makes sure their job is set up right (more detail needed here).
Monitors strategy of pricing and contract compliance
Monitors Inside Sales Account Associate pricing strategies.
Holds Inside Sales Account Associates responsible for developing favorable pricing strategies that benefit the customer while maximizing UPS profitability.
Assists Inside Sales Associates in developing mutually beneficial contractual agreements as needed.
Holds Inside Sales Associates accountable for identifying and confronting accounts that are not complying with contract terms.
Resolves Escalated Customer Service Issues
Responds to escalated customer questions, complaints, and inquires in a timely and accurate manner.
Educates Inside Sales Account Associates on how to educate customers to use existing service channels and redirect service issues when appropriate.
Coordinates with other Sales Functions
Works cross functionally with other UPS Sales functions (i.e., corporate marketing).
Coordinates communication between field sales and inside sales to maximize business opportunities and customers service.
Solicits assistance from field sales when necessary.
Stays Current with UPS and Competitor Products and Services
Maintains up to date knowledge of UPS products and services.
Researches competitor strategies, capabilities, and pricing patterns through using sales tools and marketing information.
Identifies and educates Inside Sales Account Associates ways to position UPS products advantageously in comparison to competitors.
