Director Strategic Sourcing – Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS)
Description:
Emerson, a global manufacturer of high-quality products, systems and services for commercial, industrial and consumer markets is seeking a Manager, Strategic Sourcing – EMS to be responsible for Strategic Elements of Emerson’s $600M spend with global Contract Manufacturers. The role involves working through direct and matrix management to develop and implement a strategic commodity business plan and sourcing strategies. Track the industry/commodity trends and process changes that affect total cost and capacity/availability.
Basic Responsibilities and Objectives Include:
? Maintain an in-depth knowledge of global EMS industry activity through close working relationships with preferred suppliers, trade organizations, and market trends
? Participate with a cross-functional Commodity Team in developing a comprehensive commodity strategy for review and approval with Emerson Senior Management:
- Understanding the needs and objectives of the Business Group/Divisions.
- Implement commodity strategies to manage growth and supply chain risk:
- Evaluating and selecting to suppliers to develop the Preferred Supplier Network
- Identify, coordinate, and track implementation of e-sourcing events
- Completing contract negotiations and developing commercial agreements
- Develop regional dual sourcing and supplier capacity for Emerson growth
? Negotiate and implement strategic initiatives for material sourcing and pricing strategies from Preferred Suppliers.
- Understand and confirm each Division’s engineering, quality, marketing,
procurement and manufacturing requirements and expectations.
- Participate in and support the development and implementation of a
supplier transition plans which map the consolidation process for each Division
- Insure the accuracy and set expectations for the commodities reported in
Divisional inflation models
? Assume a leadership role in developing strong supplier relationships (one Emerson voice) that includes such things as:
- Develop supplier plans and goals that drive continuous improvement in LEAN
manufacturing, inventory and capacity planning
- Technology development & integration into Emerson Products
- Global deployment and Support to Emerson as one company
- Supplier Performance
? Travel – Estimated at 30%
