To ensure mechanical structure meet NII target and quality standard

Summary

Responsible for designing and modifying all structures of products and their toolings in order to ensure the organization achieves the highest level of NII business goal.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Create new mechanical structure designs that meet customer requirements, conduct design reviews as required
• Create detailed bids in response to customer requirements
• Develop and maintain technical data packages, prepare and present formal design reviews
• Develop prototypes and plan/execute tests to validate designs, mitigate risks and/or trouble shoot problems.
• Complete designs on schedule and within budget.
• Support prototype builds and plan/ execute tests to validate designs, migrate risks and/ or troubleshoot problems.
• Manipulation of CAD and 3D models.
• Complete design calculations using analysis techniques.
• Experience in designing metal and plastic molds.
• Prepares and reviews statements of work for NII factory and supplier’s factories. Works with technicians, managers, and procurement personnel. Follows up and reports on strategies, performance, and financial aspects of operations and maintenance activities.

Qualifications:

• Mechanical Engineer Degree or Engineering Design Technology diploma coupled with proven industrial experience.
• 5+ years of relevant design experience in plastic injection and metal stamping for electrical applications.
• Experience with 3D Modelling Software is required. (e.g. ProE, UG, and Solid Works)
• Pro-Engineer knowledge would be an asset
• Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
