Job Summary:
Responsible for continued sustaining product support. Plans and makes improvements to manufacturing processes. Identifies cost reduction opportunities within the manufacturing process.
Major Responsibilities:
Work with suppliers to assure the processes produce quality products.
Coordinate with mfg engineering manager to trouble shoot product problems and improvements.
Assure suppliers have and use Manufacturing Control Plans.
Assist and provide technical support to suppliers in the creation of MCPs.
Carry out Failure Analysis
Coordinate with mfg engineering manager to resolve Supplier Corrective Action Requests, Closed Loop Corrective Actions, and Material review Board issues.
Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Provide support and assistance for all aspects of product quality to ensure that parts meets specifications.
Requirements:
Must have an engineering degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have the ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Must have the ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, piers, and suppliers.
Must read, and write English.
Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience and demonstrated ability in manufacturing and at least 3 years in a quality role
Knowledge of ISO9001
Must be willing to travel (about 30% of the time)
