Responsibility:Ø Develop an in-depth understanding of the commodity market, the suppliers and its use in Robotics Ø Implement upstream Spend ScreeningØ Set-up best-in-class Supplier PanelØ Develops & maintain cost modelsØ Leads Purchasing activities related to BU Cost-reduction Projects Ø Identify cost reduction projects wherever possibleØ Drive execution leveraging and engage the commodity network in local countries to ensure budget achievementØ Lead annual/ongoing negotiations & frame Long Term Agreements, in conjunction with local commodity buyersØ Supports Countries Purchasing in QDC managementØ Work closely with R&D and Operations to ensure sharing of ideas, and a coordinated approachØ Support and/or lead LCC Sourcing in line with BU strategyØ Work with Project Buyers to help define target price, in line with cost models, and in agreement with Project ManagerØ Support the Proposal Team with material cost information (Project Business)Ø Support project management by ensuring early supply chain involvement, and work closely with project buyers through the development phase and beyondØ Defines supplier short list to be consulted for new projects in line with supplier panel strategyØ Leads negotiations for business award, decided in sourcing committees and in liaison with the project buyer & local commodity buyersØ Develop internal and external network to ensure understanding of external best-in-class, and internal best practiceØ Establish a framework of reporting and associated KPIs to ensure effective performance measurement and managementØ Communicate strategies and result of negotiations to all involvedØ Coordinate and leverage spend with other BU's within ABB Group when applicable Requirement: Ø B.S. degree in engineering or business  Ø Business sense and understanding of key purchasing methods Ø Technical acumen to enable understanding of the commodity and its application Ø Strong negotiation skills and a track record in delivery of results Ø International experience and fluent English Ø Strong problem solving, communications, and interpersonal skills to drive the necessary change.  Ø Ability to effectively work in a “virtual team” environment and the ability to influence others in getting things accomplished is critical. Ø Experience with SAP is an advantage Ø Drive, determination, resilience Ø 2-3 years similar experience within an Industrial environment
