General Manager China THE COMPANY We are an Irish based company that design, manufacture, sell and support hot water based beverage making equipment for the catering industry. We are seeking an individual to head up an existing supply chain team based in Ningbo, China with a view to developing its growing activities and engaging further with China manufacturing THE ROLE Reporting directly to the Group Operations Manager, the role encompasses all aspects of the effective Operations Management of Marco China, through personnel, product, and financial management of that function. Key Responsibilities will include: Operational Delivery 1. Lead and direct the China manufacturing operation ensuring on time delivery of finished goods / components from all manufacturing plants to agreed quality standards. 2.Direct and oversee site production activities and personnel. 3.Drive and implement effective transfer of new products from Ireland to manufacturing plants in China. 4.Drive and participate in continuous improvement projects to improve productivity, quality, cost and capacity within all manufacturing plants. 5.Assist in the development of the strategic plan for all operational activity through China. 6.Manage the China supply chain ensuring all raw material components are sourced, validated, purchased and delivered on time, at the correct cost, and to the agreed quality standard. 7.Manage component stock at all manufacturing plants ensuring accuracy to pre-defined targets 8.Drive cost reduction initiatives through the China Operations environment. 9.Issue weekly/monthly reports on productivity, stock and quality performance metrics. 10.Oversee both supplier and manufacturing quality audits ensuring pre-defined standards are achieved and maintained. Staff Management 1. Develop appropriate staff resources in the China Team to ensure that projects and products are delivered on time, on budget and to the agreed quality standard. 2.To establish clear organizational structures for each member of the China Team including responsibilities and accountabilities of individuals. Legal and Financial Management 1.Develop, agree and manage China Operations annual budget. 2.Accountable for the effective financial management of the China Team 3.Manage all aspects of legal and financial requirements with local government offices. Organizational Effectiveness and leadership 1.Contribute to short and long term organizational planning and strategy as a member of the Senior Marco Management Team. 2.Visit headquarters in Ireland up to four times per annumn. Key Requirements: 1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 2. Excellent negotiation skills 3. Excellent people manager, open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done. 4. Fluency in English language 5. Fluency in Chinese language a distinct advantage 6. Dynamic and innovative self-starter with ability to work and make decisions independently. 7. Degree level qualification with 5 years plus relevant experience. 8.
