Position Summary
Line subordinates: 2 Chief Chemists and 6 lab chemists
To establish and maintain quality control system for 2 blending plants and 5 toll blenders


Activities
- Responsible for the supervision and guidance of the labs HSE system, and to improve the awareness of all chemists
- Keep effective contact with TL HQ and TOAP on product production and quality control aspect.
- Ensure all raw materials, production process and finished products under rigorous quality control
- Emergency response to ensure product quality and production smoothly
- Guiding chief chemists to implement daily laboratory management. Take care of the respect of lab Capex and Opex budget.
- Manage new product localization, product upgrade, formula optimization and arrange lab trials and special tests for customer special requirements.
- Participate with other departments to complete product quality survey and to update control procedures
- Participate to technical exchange with additive suppliers to obtain necessary product & technical information
- To keep good relationship with local quality and technical official mission on registration and update of product standards, product inspection and technical exchange
Arrange suitable quality control and supervision to toll blenders


Context and environment
- Above 200 products, more than 100,000 Ton of annual sales volume, and servicing for more and more OEMs, TLC & TTM needs strict and suitable quality control to meet and China market’s requirement.
- 2 Total blending plants and 5 toll blenders need a clear and efficient quality control system.
Accountabilities
- Effective communication with TL HQ and TOAP about product production and quality control
- Maintain suitable quality control system to ensure products to meet marketing’s requirement
- Ensure the efficient and stable operation of two labs
- Provide technical assistance and lab tests to support business development
- Cooperate other departments to complete product quality analysis


Qualifications / experience required
- Bachelor degree or above, major in chemical engineering with strong technical and management skills (product management, lab management, …)
- Senior profile (>= 7 years experience), having experience (Min 5 years) in the technical field of lubricants
- Be familiar with lubricants quality control system and China national quality standards and regulations
- Details-oriented, strong quality sense and work under pressure
- Excellent ability of systematical management and good analytical capability
- Demonstrate a good capacity for coordination, ability to establish suitable quality control system
