Summary

Provides design engineering support for assigned product development projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following, other duties may be assigned

· Generates and refines design solutions to identified product requirements, formalize designs with the use of CAD tools.

· Creates complex models and drawings to established guidelines and standards.

· Ensures that products are designed to meet all performance specifications and regulatory requirements.

· Uses formal tools such as Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFMEA and FEA to anticipate and solve design and manufacturing problems and to optimize the design for cost and quality.

· Supports manufacturing and sourcing with Design for manufacturing techniques in order to deliver product on time and on budget.

· Supports the quality team with DFMEAs and strong Product Validation/Verification documentation and preliminary testing.

· Supports non-NPD initiatives including the resolution of quality issues and productivity initiatives.

· Provides design support to quality initiatives and current products in the market.

· Provides design support across projects and product categories.

· Supports creation of needed prototypes and models to validate designs, hands on at times.

· Designs and runs testing plans related to project work.

· Supports deployment of new products through manufacturing start.

· Creates and maintains specifications and project documentation as needed.

· Requisitions performance testing as needed.

Requirements

· 3-5 years relevant experience in a similar role or function.

· Demonstrated strong design and analytical skills.

· Proficiency with 3D modeling required, SolidWorks preferred.

· Bachelor or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related natures.

· Good knowledge in material property, manufacturing process, tolerance analysis, stack up analysis, etc., Good knowledge of plastic injection molding, part & assembly design, and manufacturing processes, good knowledge of the metal fabrications, tooling and other commonly used materials.

· Good English communication skills for both verbal and written, must be able to communicate with overseas counter parties independently.

· Experiences in working with projects teams spread across multiple locations is a plus.
