Job Purpose:

The global supplier quality and development buyers are organized by commodity and have a profund knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, quality systems and the related manufacturing processes.

The role is to manage global supplier quality, the supplier’s panel in relation to quality and develop the quality and production systems of suppliers to get the right quality optimizing production costs.

The Global Supplier development & performance buyer reports to the Global Supplier Quality & Development manager.

Key areas of accountability:

• Manage the global supplier quality in mass production
• Ensure global achievement of supplier quality objectives in serial life in coordination with quality teams.
• Manage supplier quality through an updated “red list”
• Set meetings with supplier’s management to ensure existence of quality convergence plans and involvement of supplier
• Ensure existance of recovery action plans (8D), convergence curves and follow up deployment for all quality issues in red list until complete issue solution.
• Follow up the closure of 8D on time
• Ensure feedback / involvement from plant quality about quality evolution for any given quality issue

• Supplier development & quality commodity
• Define supplier panel requirements and supplier quality strategy
• System audit of potential suppliers to define panel status in coordination with commodity teams
• Define supplier improvement action plans according to audit outcome and panel criteria and ensure deployment according to schedule
• Ensure supplier compliance with PSS panel requirements
• Ensure suppliers have a quality system in place able to reach the targeted quality level of supply
• Negotiate & sign Quality Assurance Agreement with suppliers
• Manage supplier quality for VA/VE and transfer activities in mass production
• Achieve supplier quality and supplier readiness objectives
• Train suppliers in specific validation and mass production quality tools and make sure that the defined standards are properly applied
• Involve relevant functions in the validation process in line with validation requirements ensuring supplier quality deliverables
• Set the strategy, action plans and regular follow up & convergence plans to achieve supplier quality objectives
• Define & deploy continuous improvement process to manage tools & processes for perimeter in charge
• Supplier cost reduction through production process optimization
• Propose product related cost reduction initiatives together with commodity teams and ensure deployment
• Benchmark suppliers processes and solutions to define cost reduction activities
• Audit and implement lean manufacturing solutions at suppliers to eliminate waste, improve quality and reduce cost

Job scope:

Work with people across at all levels of the organization and external parties. lead a NPR purchasing team on daily operations.   Decisions are made with professional knowledge and have partly impacts to NPR team.  Tasks can be different and require prompt and accurate judgment.

Qualification:

• Academic/Professional Qualification: Engineering industrial/acoustic.
• Expertise/Skills: 10 years automotive experience, lean manufacturing and supplier management experience.
• Language skills: Chinese and English both need be very good
• Personal Attributes: Leadership skills, critical thinking, ethical/honest, accountable teamwork, communication skills, and milestone experience.
