Job Description

The Business Developer (BD) plans and implements product development & sourcing strategies through input from the GM Category & Product Development & Strategic Purchasing Manager . The role has management responsibility for the Dorel Australia Team, external suppliers and collaboration with other Dorel groups

The BD China will report to the GM of Category & Product Development, this role is primarily responsible for:

1. Leadership of the DAU team

2. Sourcing, both finished products and components

3. Strategic Purchasing in collaboration with DEU / DJG to meet cost targets

4. Supporting the product development strategies developed from Australia

5. Collaboration with DJG / DEU on sourcing and product development

6. Developing new supplier relationships in concert with PD strategy

7. Management of the QA team in conjunction with the Australian QA team

8. Overall responsibility for the relation with the supplier and all business activities carried out by the BD team members: Project engineering, Project Quality and Supply Chain.

9. Ensures that all products are delivered from appointed suppliers according to specifications and all other conditions agreed: quality, time and cost.

10. Effective proactive liaison with other departments as necessary to forecast, plan to meet, and to supply demand to relevant quality

11. Collaborate with marketing, sales and market quality departments to define client requirements and expectations.

12. Develop material costs forecasts or standard cost lists.

13. Cost saving budgeting and targeting

14. Design or implement supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, or cost reduction strategies.

15. Constantly improve suppliers' performances to create capability for long term development.

16. Payment terms negotiation, optimisation and management

17. Act as the company's ambassador.
