Technical director is responsible of leading top level performance related and technical issues within the unit. Role description is wide in order to facilitate involvement in various and cross-functional activities as well as customer communication.

- Initiating and managing top level (cross-functional) operation excellence, performance and other related development projects, supporting and oversee quality in everyday operations, such as production, suppliers, inspections, testing and site activities.
- Managing and keeping product cost tool (RoBoT) up to date, providing Predictive Production Cost (PPC) calculation for sales when requested, providing cost data for Azipod C Cost List, production slot reservation and confirmation for sales projects.
- Leading and facilitating new product types into production, reviewing and constantly following up of SCM process regularly (once in a month) on its outputs and performance indicators (PI). In case when PI targets not achieved or other development needs noticed, then initiating project or actions to remedy.
- Participating for supplier evaluation and technical auditing, regularly reviewing production performance indicators (PI) and constantly following up of production process.
- When PI targets are not achieved or other development needs are noticed, then initiating project or actions to remedy regularly (once in a month) Production Observation Tour with feedback and actions, final approval of completed product for delivery readiness, final approval of production certificate, regular review of QEHS key and other performance indicators (KPI, PI).
- When KPI or PI targets not achieved, initiating project or actions to remedy, oversee quality- environmental and occupational health and safety management system development and certification issues, technical support for critical events or cases, when contractual obligations are endangered.
- Training and coaching local engineering in day-to-day business cases and supporting communications to Finland, need and involvement is agreed case by case with Manager, Project Execution, coordinating patent issues when local efforts are needed.

- Must have a bachelor’s degree or above in engineering.
- Excellent communication skills with a continuous improvement and results-oriented approach required.
- Must be fluent in English and ability to well present both internally & externally.
- Good knowledge of Azipod® product is mandatory, preferably on Compact Azipod.
