Job Title: Supplier Development Engineering Manager
Department: Engineering
Reports To: Director of Manufacturing Engineering / Director of Asia Operations
Location: Ningbo

SUMMARY
Responsible for supporting the Engineering Department and Product Groups for new product development programs with existing and new suppliers through management of the Supplier Development Engineering department in Asia.

RESPONSIBILITIES
? Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.
? Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff proficiency.
? Implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department.
? Set scientific and technical goals within broad outlines provided by top management
? Participation as a team member, actively working toward successful implementation and completion of team goals and objectives as directed by Management
? Train suppliers in Dorman's standard processes and methods.
? Develop and prepare reports of progress and analysis of projects as required by Management
? Operations Analysis - Analyzing needs and product requirements to modify and / or enhance product design for efficient manufacturing.
? Management of Personnel Resources - Motivating, developing, and directing people as they perform activities. Identify the best people for the job.
? Judgment and Decision Making - Consider relative costs and benefits to potential actions and choose the most appropriate solution.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

? Bilingual individual fluent in English and Chinese both written and verbal.
? Required at least a bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial or manufacturing engineering. Other qualifications include previous management experience in a manufacturing environment, as well as the ability direct large-scale engineering projects.
? Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes; i.e. machining, stamping, casting, injection molding, etc.
? Able to communicate clearly with suppliers and internal team members in regards to technical requirements, process determination and optimization, new product development including design deviations etc.
? Ability to learn and adapt to new processes and systems
? Good PC skills including MS Office Suite including Excel, Word and Access, and fundamental CAD knowledge.
? Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
