SUMMARY
The Safety Footwear Technician is responsible for ensuring the product and technical quality standards of the complete footwear collection as set by Dickies are adhered through the production process. This individual will also be responsible for scheduling their own QA (Quality Assurance) as needed and work with the suppliers on amending components to solve quality issues. They may also be required to pre-audit potential new sources



JOB REMIT
-- Good knowledge of technical standards with commercial needs of business and deliver customer value while adhering to product safety
-- knowledge of all safety footwear standards including EN and ASTM
-- Strong technical skills in footwear construction and fit
-- Ensure the manufacturer's process controls are appropriate to deliver consistent quality product.
-- Train suppliers in appropriate QC process's and best practices
-- Analyze customer feedback of all products to aid product innovation.
-- Give feedback regarding test methods and performance standards.
-- Experience in a similar position

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
?Develop and maintain the technical specification sheets of all styles of footwear
?Manage and monitor the certification process ensuring all certificates are up to date and correct
?Ensure all technical files and test reports are up to date and randomly check that all products used during the production match as agreed in the technical file and therefore ensuring certification standards are correct.
?Manage the production schedule of all footwear orders and put forward a monthly inspection plan to the Footwear Buyer. This must be organized for best time management recognizing the production situation of each factory unit and ensuring optimum inspection time at each
?Carry out inline inspections at the production stage to ensure that any quality issues are prevented. Or if quality issues have arisen then work with the factory to rectify this issue for any forward purchase orders
?Ensure buyer received correct sealed sample of every style and ensure the factory has a duplicate set to refer to during production.
?Liaise with QC at the European Headquarters regarding any quality issues
?Prepare for and participate in conference meetings relating to product development, quality investigations, inspection requirements, quality processes, color standardization, and external meetings as assigned by Williamson Dickie Europe Ltd.
?Visit the European Headquarters when required.
?Ensure all tasks are completed within the assigned time frame.
?Organize and file all technical files.
?Book flights and hotels for their own monthly plan once signed off by SBL
?Complete expense reports in a timely manner.
?Complete pre-audit inspections on potential new factory audits
?Report back to the buyer any trend developments that they have identified from style, mould, trims and accessories.
?Produce specific reports as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
?Three year related experience and/or training in Safety footwear production and developing
?Thorough knowledge of the certification process and its requirements to meet EN and ASTM standards.

SYSTEMS EXPERIENCE:
?Position requires computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
?Chinese and English are required.
?Must be very advanced in English communication both oral and written as will have daily calls to the UK office
?Ability to effectively communicate and present information in a professional manner in one-on-one and small group situations.
?Ability to read and interpret written instructions, correspondence, and memos.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
?Ability to report statistical data relating to findings

?Ability to travel if needed. Must be comfortable with traveling and long periods away from home.
