Main Role:
Support the development & execution of merchandising strategies for all of China.
Support the monitoring of results to ensure that overall sales, gross margin, and inventory targets are met, while enhancing long term brand equity & sustainable development of the business.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
In-Season Execution
·Support the Merchandising Manager in the management & monitoring of inventory from start to end, by monitoring sales, gross margin and inventory. Conduct product performance and product flow analysis to support the Merchandising Manager in making inventory decisions such as:
--Initial order quantity
--Initial store allocation
--In-season pull & push store allocation
--Cross channel transfer of goods
--Transfer of goods
--In-season markdown & product related promotion planning and execution
Inventory Planning
·Support the Merchandising Manager in plans to digest company inventory. Improve any current processes and analyze best digestion channel strategy.
Seasonal Planning
·Support the Merchandising Manager in developing & managing the category definition, through analysis of product performance
·Support the Merchandising Manager in developing & managing the category role, through analysis of internal cross category performance
·Support the Merchandising Manager in conducting the regular category assessments (Overall & sub-segment level) from a sales, profit, and ROI perspective, through analysis of product performance
·Support the Merchandising Manager in creating category scorecards, to define the category's KPIs and objective for the qualitative/quantitative measures of the scorecard consistent with corporate goals and category roles
·Work with the Merchandising Manager for developing & monitoring the merchandising financial plan
·Support the Merchandising Manager in the development & management of the pricing plan, markdown plan, and in-store product related promotion plan, through product performance analysis
·Support the Merchandising Manager in deciding space allocation decisions through product performance analysis
Post Season Analysis
·Support the Merchandising Manager in conducting the post-season review of the category, to measure, monitor, and modify the category's strategies, tactics and processes on a timely basis, through analysis of product performance
Key Performance Indicators:
Result Oriented KPI
·Sales
·Retained Gross Margin
·In-season inventory out of stock ratio by store
·In-season inventory forecasting accuracy (sell-thru) by SKU
Process Oriented KPI
·Data accuracy / low number of rework
·On-time delivery of reports
·Client Satisfaction (Store Operations, Sourcing, GM)
Required Experience& Skills
·At least 3 years in Apparel industry experience, if assortment planning experience or Sales / financial plan experience by product category and item level, gross margin, inventory etc is a plus
·Be able to manager weekly price/promotion and coordinate with other dept.
·Smart & logical (consulting firm experience is good)
·Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
·Open and willingly accept changes which typically happen for new company
·Hard worker, willing to work even overtime as needed
·Excellent Team-player
