Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage complete packaging development process, including the creation of packaging designs, prototype development, and performance testing

2. Troubleshoot new and existing packaging problems involving designs, materials and processes and provide creative, timely, and cost-effective solutions.

3. Analyze engineering drawings and specifications of product to determine physical characteristics of item, special handling, environmental and safety requirements, and types of materials required for packaging.

4. Specify and recommend efficiency tools and test methods to develop and validate packaging designs.

5. Identify and implement cost saving initiatives related to packaging materials, labor, efficiency, transportation, and storage.

6. Develop and implement comprehensive test plans to ensure that packaging exceeds customer specifications

7. Establish work measurement programs and consult with purchasing and suppliers to determine costs and feasibility of producing proposed packaging.

8. Assist in production problem solving as it relates to the functionality of current or new packaging.

9. Work proactively with finding packaging alternatives that ensures the products quality during transportation from supplier to customer. 

10. Make sure that our packaging enables us to transport products in a logistically efficient way. 

11. Always be on the look out for new sustainable materials, production methods and packaging designs.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or related field.

2. Excellent communication skills in addition to strong teamwork, interpersonal, and leadership skills

3. Strong initiative and the ability to be self-directed in completing tasks.

4. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

5. Proficiency at the intermediate to experienced level in CAD and MS Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and drawing skills

6. Business fluency in English
