BASIC PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The purpose of this position is to manage, develop and complete packaging structural design, display & PDQ projects. Maintain Packaging database and manage container load maximization. Solve packaging structural issues and optimize existing packaging. Also performs new packaging technology analysis, construction guidelines and database maintenance.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Work with overseas Creative teams in new packaging structural development process. Including retail packaging, PDQ tray, shipping carton etc.

• Manage packaging suppliers & OEM vendors.  From structural concept, dieline, mock up sample, construction approval, packaging tests to shipment.

• Optimize existing packaging. Provide solutions in packaging excellences at cost, quality and lead time.

• Assist vendors in solving packaging and packaging test issues.

• Understand customer's packaging requirement/standard, create packaging specifications and assist sourcing team in getting quotation.

• Offer best packaging design in achieving best cost and maximum container load.

• Provide packaging advice, solution and support to relevant parties.

• Source, study and apply new packaging material and technology to our packaging (Senior)

• Set up construction guideline and maintain the related database. (Senior)

• Train & Coach other staffs on packaging related matters.(Senior)

Qualification and skills required 

• At least 5 - 8 years relevant experience in packaging development

• Familiar with Illustrator, Auto CAD and Microsoft Office software

• Familiar with packaging structure design, packaging material, printing & production process (different coating process and special process of spot UV, foil stamping, embossing), transportation packaging, packaging machinery

• Familiar with internal packaging test standard

• Proven experience to finish packaging structure design personally and familiar with structure design issue

• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese / Mandarin

• Detail orientation, responsible, proactive attitude, team work and be organized

•  Outstanding candidate with less experience would be considered as Sr.Engineer.
