Area of responsibility
- Manage inland barge and rail service along Yangtze River except Suzhou and Taicang for export purpose.
- Manage inland trucking export and import service along Yangtze River except Suzhou and Taicang via METS+ system.
- Evaluate intermodal supplier performance.
- Coordinate with GCA Equipment maintenance and repair(EMR) to improve EMR service and 3P ratio.
- Optimize process to improve efficiency and strength operation standardization, seek for cost saving solution, and participates in improvement project.
- Maintain and timely update Systems.
- Cooperate to achieve team targets and KPIs.
Learning opportunities in the position
- Intermodal process and knowledge
- Barge and rail operation familiarization
- General shipping knowledge especially for transhipment
- Coordination skills to manage transhipment along the Yangtze River
- Special cargo (DG, Reefer & OOG) operation skills
- Liner operation systems familiarization (Mets+, RKEM, MARVEL, E-view, GSIS, MLIS, FACT, etc)
- Relationship and communication skills with relevant authorities and suppliers
- Basic shipping industry Electronic Data Interchange skills
- Liner operation cost structure and business mind to find new opportunities to build win-win solution
- Catapult savings for APM group with initiatives to create more efficient ways of running business
