An “Operations Support Manager - China” is required for an established global quality & manufacturing support services provider. This is a key opportunity for a person with a high level of engineering quality understanding, to join a developing business during a period of extensive expansion.

Title: Operations Support Manager
Salary: Competitive Industry Rates (Negotiable).
Duration: Full Time Contract
Hours: Full-Time, circa 40 hours per week.
Location: Shanghai

Due to continued expansion an opportunity has arisen for a “Operations Support Manager - China”, within a global business providing quality & manufacturing support services, for the automotive, off-highway, and power generation industries. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of a team carrying out inspection / review of components, including visual / attribute gauging, standard measuring equipment (vernier / micrometer, height gauge etc), electronic gauging as required, (Marposs Gauging, Faro Arm, CMM etc) with results data recording / analysis & reporting.

Key responsibilities:

? Management of overall operations within China:
? Day to day management of team(s) of quality inspectors providing containment & inspection services.
? All aspects of resource management, prioritisation, scheduling, timekeeping, reporting, resource capacity planning etc.
? Internal business development to attain engineering & operational “best practice”.
? Implementing & maintaining H&S requirements, e.g. risk assessment, P.P.E. etc.
? Developing strategies to maintain and exceed internal & external customer expectations.
? Deliver operational C.S.I’s. (Including but not limited to)
? Team member coaching, appraisal & performance measurement.
? Management of all local purchasing requirements, equipment, P.P.E. etc.
? Manage relationships with third party service providers and equipment suppliers.
? Development of client base.
? Liaison with U.K. management team.
? Lead communication within team and liaison with site customer representatives.


Qualifications & Key Experience Requirements:

？ The ideal candidate will be educated to a high level in engineering quality processes, with relevant and demonstrated engineering quality experience, working within a medium / high volume environment.
？ Good qualifications or experience in an engineering manufacturing environment with a good understanding of processes, e.g. machining, welding, casting etc.
？ A proven and quantifiable success in operations management with a track record of operational delivery.
？ Qualification or relevant experience of SPC techniques, Gage R&R, First Article Inspection etc.
？ Experience of current quality / engineering core tools and systems would be a distinct advantage, e.g. TS16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, 8-D etc.
？ A demonstrated ability to lead a team of quality inspectors / operators, to a high standard, against demanding timelines.
？ A high level of computer skills in e-mail, Excel, Word, MS Office applications, etc.
？ A dexterous and focused attention to detail.
？ Project management experience an advantage.
？ A good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
？ Have man management credentials and the ability to build and develop a team of cross functional personnel.
？ A general smart appearance, polite & punctual, self-motivating, with an ability to perform within a pressured engineering environment.
