  BASIC PURPOSE OF THE POSITION  

This position is responsible for managing internal laboratory testing activities.

  

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  

• Responds to product inquiries and providing technical advice for product testing requirement base on safety aspect testing of products

• Prioritizes and manages laboratory workload for internal testing

• Ensures accurate and consistent testing procedures through the validation of all current procedures and by developing and implementing new procedures

• Maintains records and manage all aspects of testing activities

• Ensures equipment is maintained & calibrated, reporting all deficiencies in the appropriate manner (SR)

• Determines technical training needs of personnel (SR)

• Provide technical coaching for the specialist and engineer (SR)

• Assist Laboratory Manager with the management of the testing project portfolio (SR)

• Oversees quality, customized quotations and invoicing for tests performed from 3rd laboratory (SR)

                 

Experience or skills required

• Bachelor Degree

• Min 8 years of relevant experience for Specialist and 10 years of relevant experience for Senior Specialist

• Experience in laboratory or 3rd party agency, preferably in manufacturing industry

• Familiar with international standards such as EN, IEC, UL, etc

• Knowledge of the full spectrum of laboratory functions

• Possess excellent interpersonal and good communication skills

• Good team player, possess strong analytical skill and project management, and with effective in communication

• Strong managerial & leadership skills (SR)

• Ability to be a confident business partner and build and maintain continuous relations with external consultant & 3rd party agency (SR)

• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese / Mandarin
