Title: Purchasing Manager

Report to: Supply Chain Manager



Main responsibilities:

To create, manage, develop and maintain a strategic and innovative approach to all purchasing activities, including supplier selection, quality of goods/equipment/tools and services, and cost reduction programs.



Responsible for identifying and presenting key purchasing strategy including process development, risk analysis and capacity management in line with Tajco Manufacturing principles and purchasing best practice.
Coordinates with local and global resources to develop and execute sourcing plans.
Expected to evaluate current purchasing processes and recommend solutions for improvements
Responsible for establishing a culture of Continuous Improvement within the purchasing team
Establish major step changes in purchasing procedures and productivity for the purpose of quality, cost and control of our components and Vendors, so as to support the company's competiveness and profitability.
To prepare monthly "Key Performance Indicator" documents for the Purchasing department.
Consolidate necessary information to raise purchase orders for materials, equipment and tools etc in line with Tajco controlling principles.
Monitor delivery of items against negotiated lead times, and expedite deliveries to ensure deadlines can be achieved. Just in time principles.
Optimize working capital according to the production plan.
Optimize purchasing risk assessment
Communication to business of potential supply issues in advance.
Liaise with Accounts and Suppliers to resolve any invoice queries.
Negotiate contracts/service agreements, for competitive prices and service contracts.
Monitor and evaluation of supplier performance;
Assume other assignments or responsibilities required by line manager.


Authorization:

- Approves/validates new Supplier applications within Tajco Authority Policy

- Sign for all Purchase Order Expenditure;


Qualification:

Bachelor of engineer and/or similar
Manufacturing background, prior experience in Automotive Industry is essential.
Preferable working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices, Six Sigma, 5S, MRP, EHS & OSHA compliance, Supplier evaluation system
Excellent both English and Chinese verbal and written communication skills

Strong leadership to engage the team resource and inspire the team spirit.
Strong negotiation skills;
Logical thinking
Competent with MRP programs. SAP experience is a plus
