Position objective:

This position will participate in initiatives, which deliver gross margin, growth, cost savings, support of manufacturing operations and that meet customer requirements through NPD, quality, order fulfillment and technical guidance.  This position will work closely with cross-functional teams including product management, solutions, supply chain and operations. Typical functions involved in include, new product development, life cycle, productivity and manufacturing engineering.

Responsibility:

• Participate in studies of new and existing designs to incorporate product feature, performance advancements and disruptive technologies.

• Provide Engineering design support to productivity improvement projects through effective participation on cross functional teams

• Participate in Engineering efforts on critical projects which includes idea development, prototype, project execution, and plant/business system implementation

• Coordinate design and project activities with other Project Engineers and Designers. Ensure performance, quality, and reliability are maintained throughout the design cycle

• Ensure accuracy and completeness of engineering design, documentation, and bill of material for products on both a domestic and global level

• Provide detailed design layouts and tolerance stack ups and design calculations and analysis of FEA results

• Develop and coordinate testing of design concepts as necessary to validate new designs

• Participate in value stream and lean workshops with internal teams as well as supply base, to identify and define cost reduction opportunities

• Support plant and product management cost out and margin expansion activities

• Manage and maintain project plans. Complete deliverables and overall projects on schedule, within budget and meeting all technical and customer requirements

• Build and encourage a culture of productivity within the ARO Fluids SBU and local manufacturing facility. 

Requirement:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other business software applications.

• Windchill PLM systems.

• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and lead multiple concurrent projects and key initiatives based on the distinct needs of the business

• Ability with quality and reliability processes, supplier qualification, and part approval requirements

• Ability to navigate projects or opportunities with limited definition and provide business and technical feedback on their merit

• Strong collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to participate effectively across functions (operations, product management, sourcing, etc.)

• 3D CAD skills, Pro-E preferred

• Leadership and interpersonal skills must be sufficient to allow incumbent to coordinate the work of others over whom he/she may have no authority.

• Working knowledge and understanding of relevant manufacturing methods and process capabilities to include; various machining processes, casting, plastics, metal fabrication and welding.

• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels

• Good customer service and interpersonal skills
