Responsible for coordination of all aspects of packaging including clamshells, boxes, hybrid boxes, master cartons and print issues. Manages project activities for design/ownership of released packaging configurations and dielines for all products. Works with packaging department and packaging project manager to complete US and European packaging on time and on budget.

1. Responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of consumer packaging in manufacturing.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Serve as liaison between internal US packaging design team and Asian based packaging manufacturing vendors (both print and plastic)

2. Work with US based packaging team and project manager to determine new product launch packaging schedule in manufacturing.

Management of transfer of digital files from packaging design team located in US to Hong Kong pre-press agency.

Management of pre-press agency based in Hong Kong

Management of transfer of film from prepress agency to print vendor in China

Conduct press checks, and coordinate packaging first article approvals. Drive vendors to meet schedule deadline

3. Manage the timely manufacturing implementation of product packaging with clamshell, corrugate, and print manufacturing vendors with the support of US Packaging team and US based Packaging Engineer.

4. Ensure product packaging meets QA requirements including fit and drop testing.

5. Work with Asia packaging manufacturers and US packaging team to improve, troubleshoot, and streamline packaging production issues (both print and plastic)

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Production Management, Industrial Design – with an emphasis on Packaging or related degree or similar background.

Experience: 5 years developing consumer packaging. 2 years in Production Management, Packaging Coordination or equivalent. Knowledge of current print manufacturing processes and best practices including 4C process, spot color, and PDF workflow. Knowledge and understanding of clamshell development. Understanding of Quality Assurance issues as related to Master Cartons. Experience interfacing with and interpreting sketches provided by remote packaging design teams

Skills: Strong verbal and written skills in English, Putonghua and Cantonese. Must be able to multi-task various projects in a fast paced environment. Ability to work within a cross functional organization. Honesty and integrity and able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Self-starter with an assertive and enthusiastic personality able to work within various cultures. Able to work independently with strong problem solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills at all levels—both internally and to external resources. Works within both the PC and Apple[Mac] environment. Software programs: CAD, Excel, PowerPoint Working knowledge of: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, QuarkXpress.

Travelling: freqent travelling (50%)
