Purpose
Com&In is a unique resource consisting of specialists in home furnishing, range presentation, store planning, communication, interior design, graphic design, purchasing behaviour, aesthetics and craftsmanship. With these skills and a high level of awareness of the local market, people's living conditions, trends, values, etc., Com&In, together with Sales and logistics are able to present the range in a commercial and affordable way that inspires visitors and make their dreams reachable.
Mandate
The Graphic Communication Specialist is a key competence position within the IKEA store. You apply a strong knowledge of graphic communication and production, combined with a strong brand awareness, in order to secure and strengthen IKEA as the home furnishing specialist, and in reaching set commercial goals.
Main Responsibilities
Visual Responsibility
· Responsible for reaching and exceeding the level of brand awareness and graphic communication skills in the store, within give guidelines provided by China communications & Interior Design and Inter IKEA Systems.
· Remain current and up to date on your subject area, methods and processes, the IKEA concept manuals, local and national trends, values, lifestyles, living situations, competition, and influences in home furnishing
Commercial Responsibility
· Combine and present the IKEA home furnishing range in an exciting, vibrant and creative manner to reflect and reinforce the Swedishness of the IKEA range, versatility and functionality of products and inspire the target group to make their buying decision.
· Ensure Store activity and marketing plans are implemented effectively, adhered to and In-store communication meets requirements, standards and time schedules.
· Ensure all decision making reflects a cost - conscious approach and budgets are reviewed and assessed to ensure they contribute to increasing profitability.
Customer Satisfaction
· To ensure it is easy and convenient to shop at the IKEA store.
· Demonstrate our competence as the Home Furnishing specialist to the customer.
· Ensure that shopping at IKEA is pleasant and stimulating
Leading Self
Take responsibility for participating in regular performance reviews and combine both organisational and personal goals.
Be committed to learning and facilitating the transfer of learning in the workplace.
Accepting open straightforward and reliable in cooperation with others
Take control of own development and success within IKEA
Demonstrate a strong desire to help create a better everyday life for the many people
Knowledge
Has IKEA experience in Graphic Design and an Undergraduate degree in Graphic Design or fine/Applied Arts or five years IKEA directly related experience
Experience with drafting, and space planning
Experience with application of colour theory in design and merchandising solutions
Motivation
Interest in life at home & home furnishings.
Strong desire of know how people live, social trends, fashion, interior design, market.
Extensive knowledge of the IKEA principles and values and a desire to "live the values"
A strong commitment to share your knowledge and experience
Capability
Proficiency in In-Design, Photoshop and Illustrator, in a Macintosh environment
To work creatively, strategically and operationally
Excellent presentation, written & verbal communication skills
Highly developed graphic design skills with PC & Macintosh graphic software proficiency
