Kathmandu is looking for an experienced Trim Technologist to join the Product team at Kathmandu. The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert who ensures that the trims are sourced and developed on time, at the right price to meet or exceed Kathmandu quality standards and compliance requirements. To be successful in this position you will have strong analytical skills with the ability to multi task and meet deadlines, you will also be a hardworking, highly organised, motivated and dedicated individual. This role is based at our Christchurch Support Office, reporting to the Textile R&D and Responsible Materials Manager, this key position will have overall responsibility for:

• Supporting the development of new ideas and trends for trims/finishes/prints/technologies so that collaboration occurs with the design, product management teams and suppliers to develop innovations that are either "best for the world" or "best in the world" or both
• Supporting the trim material development process so that all trims are developed as per the seasonal critical path (CP) to meet or exceed Kathmandu quality standards
• Ensuring the trim library, seasonal development tracker, swatch books, trim specification sheets and PLM records are maintained
• Supporting the trim testing process to ensure that initial testing of trims with suppliers and field testing is undertaken and quality standards are adhered to at all times
• Supporting the maintenance of the trim supplier base and supplier relationships so that all trims suppliers are databased
• Ensuring evaluated gaps within current supplier base are identified and new suppliers are proposed

• Graduate from NZ or overseas institution with degree/diploma in Industrial Engineering, Textile Clothing, Textile Sciences or similar disciplines
• Minimum 5 years' experience
• Strong knowledge of Performance Textiles and understanding of Yarns, Fabric Manufacturing & Chemical Processing
• Knowledge of plastic, metal, wood, composites and other hard goods
• Strong understanding of International Standards ASTM, ISO and others
• Strong understanding of global compliance requirements CPSIA, Prop 65, REACH etc
• Good level of computer literacy such as excel, word, PowerPoint etc.
